I know we've got a few Weeds fans on the forum and season six is just about to start, so I thought it was time for Weeds to get it's own thread.
Season six trailer:

I am really hoping that the new season will be good after a very disappointing last season. They really got away from the core idea that made this show great. Bring back Conrad!!!

I enjoyed last season, but it was definitely the weakest. I'm looking forward to a simpler storyline of the Botwins on the run. It's a shame Elizabeth Perkins won't be back either, I love her character.

Yeah I definitely gave up on this show halfway through last season. The only reason I stuck with it was because of Celia and then I found even my love for her couldn't push me through the show. It just got way too far-fetched and lost something along the way. The lack of Celia in this next season makes me really not want to return, but I like the premise behind this season. I'll hold out for the first couple episodes and see what people have to say about them before I decide if I want to dive back in. All I know is that the fifth season was pretty awful, at least in my opinion.

I agree season five wasn't the best, but I felt it was better than season four and it got better as it went on. Hopefully, this change of setting will rejuvenate the series, unlike the first one, which I felt brought it down a bit.

Second! Yeah, I miss Conrad. Mostly, I miss life back in good ol' Agrestic. But this trailer makes me excited for the new season. I can only hope the hemptress will be back to her old ways. I'm going to miss Celia too, but they were going nowhere with her character. Her storyline was getting more and more preposterous, which was too bad because Elizabeth Perkins is great.

I like the idea of this season but I don't think the show is going to get back to the quality of seasons 1 and 2. Conrad and Heylia were two of my favourite characters, so I'd love to see them back.

I just finished a rewatch of season one. I've never thought about how much I hate Peter.

Peter is DEA guy, right? I always thought he was a tool. I don't mourn his death.
Last season was a little.. blech. I did not like Esteban. I thought that the new baby was not a great addition to the storyline. I am feeling really excited for season 6 right now though. It seems like it's going back to simpler times. The Botwins weren't in too deep, and it will be nice not to have to deal with the Mexican drug lords anymore.
Not a fan of Nancy's new haircut though.

Well. Not a fan of Nancy's wig. It seems a little weird. Also, why not just get a haircut, you know?
I was totally not a fan of Peter though. Even from the beginning. I got bad vibes.

Anyone watch the season premiere? I liked it. Shane is so funny.

The premiere was good, if a bit dry. It's starting to get annoying how Nancy's experiences with Esteban have made her so blasé. I miss the headstrong Nancy from Seasons 1-3. It's nice to see Silas getting some good development though, as he becomes the moral center of the show. Shane is messed up, I really enjoyed his stuff in the premiere. Andy never disappoints either.

I really can't be bothered with Shane or Nancy. What was up with Nancy not even telling them to go pack some stuff? Silas is probably the least annoying character they have now.

^^ And that says a lot. Silas used to annoy me to no end. I wonder how long he will stay the voice of reason. The fact that Shane is the bigger screw-up is a long time coming although they're definitely building up the potential creepy serial killer vibe. Poor Botwin boys. They just want attention from Mom but she only cares about making sure she has her shoes. (Which looked mismatched to me.)

I am the opposite. Silas has always annoyed me and probably will continue to do so. Shane, on the other hand, is pretty funny. If he were real, I think we'd be good friends.

He'd probably ask for your help in beating up animals and/or disposing of bodies so ... good luck with that. The kid has become seriously terrifying, the end shot of the episode where Nancy looks in her rear view mirror and Shane is still awake and all vacant eyed was creepy. He's going to become a serial killer. I decided to watch the premiere even though I missed the last couple episodes of the fifth season (I had given up on it), and it was alright, but I didn't find myself that invested in it. I don't think I'll watch the second, I don't know, the show feels like it's expired or something.

I know what you mean lightandmagic.
Sometimes it seems like a show has run its course, but they try to attract viewers by making it more dramatic and ridiculous, but it just feels off. And then it gets ruined.
Kinda feeling that way about Weeds. I haven't seen the premiere. I may try it, but I don't even have Showtime, and I doubt I'll have the spare time to spend it on a show that is as painful as the last season of Weeds.

Now that I think about it, the "Shane is gonna be a serial killer"-thing makes sense. They say the first sign is hurting animals when younger and he did have that bear hunting obsession, not to mention the shooting a cougar in the eye thing.
