Is this worth getting? I like the idea of this story, but I've heard mixed reactions...

I'd recommend it. The story is nothing outstanding but Lobdell had a nice handle on Gunn and Illyria, Messina's art is great and it was a fun, easy read.

Not sure if I'll get this or not. I brought all the individual issues and I'm not sure if I want to buy them again. Do we know if there is anything added like corrections, writer commentary or more related art? Hard Covers tend to have that but most regular TPB's don't.

I'm planning on picking this up soon, along with Buffy S8 Volume 6. I've read most of this, but would like to have it. The art is great, imo. Can't wait to read it straight through. ;D

Finally sat down, and read all of the issues... I overall really enjoyed them! Illyria had wonderful character moments. Like realizing that she was Only Human, kissing Jason, wanting a cat as a pet. xD Also, I love her outfit choices.  Was a good, fun ride. The art was amazing. The story was okay. I'd give the series a 8/10.  |

I overall really enjoyed them! Illyria had wonderful character moments. Like realizing that she was Only Human, kissing Jason, wanting a cat as a pet. xD Also, I love her outfit choices. Yeah, I loved Illyria in this and I also loved her outfits. They were great. Finally got my wish of seeing Illyria in a dress  It's just a shame all this is going to waste in the Angel series |

I would buy a collection of "Only Human" if it were collected in a hardcover book. It's kinda ridiculous that this story is being ignored in the main series even though it SPUN OFF from #23. The original issue at the end even states "To be continued in Still Human" (Still Human was apparently the working title for the story).

It just hasn't been addressed. Really, does it need to be anyway? It happened. Just because we dont have Angel saying, "Good to have you back from fighting an Old One", doesn't make it ignored. In my book at least. |

I agree with you Vampslyaer about Angel not needing to acknowledge the actualy facts but Illyrias Humanity has been trivialized ever since issue 28. She seems like shes trying to caricature what she thinks a human is like rather than actually being one which was the message of only human.
