Actually, the only new thing is reconfirmation that Season Nine is happening. The forty issue thing AND the Brad Meltzer thing was announced months ago. November, I think. I forget what site it originated on, but it's on my blog like five pages back. Wow, really? OMG, what planet have I been living on? LOL. Well, anyway at least we have a newer topic to talk about this in, then. ;D

(strokes beard) Excellent. Now all we have to do is get some cave men and make them fight some astronauts and my master plan will finally be complete.

well! this is good news. which also means that Buffy more than likely doesn't die at the end of S8 -- which is a good thing not sure how they're going to stop it since there's no hellmouth in SD now.... im sure that Joss has most of it planned out. Me thinks there is going to be a death soon, if not in the middle of this season.

This is great news (ok, great confirmation of news). The exactly 40 issues thing has never really been discussed concretely so now we know. It's cool to know that they've got it all planned out so concretely.
As much as I knew that Angel was only a 12 issue deal... I guess I'd sort of put that to the back of my mind as I was enjoying that the series was just starting up...when in reality it's already a quarter done... Of course, I guess so is Season 8.
I could be kind of dense here but...who the hell is Brad Meltzer? I'm somewhat versed in comics but that name doesn't ring many bells (well, not Brian K. Vaughan bells anyways), and more to that, why would he be writing such a (one assumes) pivital arc?

Well here is some brief information about Brad Meltzer. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brad_MeltzerI also wondered why Joss chose him to plot and write the second last arc. Call me old fashioned, but I would much rather a Buffy TV writer like Doug Petrie, David Fury or Marti Noxon to write it.

I wouldn't worry about that... Brian K. Vaughan has never written a TV episode either and the Faith arc was done brilliantly.
But I'm wondering what will happen to Twilight. If there's a season 9 he is not supposed to bring all magic to an end, I guess.

Or he supposed to and fails. Or Season Nine is the search for new magic. (the second sentence would be LAME)

I think Buffy will beat "Twilight", and then banish demons and magic on her own terms, hopefully much later.

Hm. I think that to end it all they will have to go to SD hellmouth where really it all started. I reckon it will be up to the core group. I don't think Twilight will last up to Season 9. Maybe some one tried to finish what he begun...

I could be way wrong, but I think the inker is the one who prepares the drawing for printing by providing the dark inked lines over the rough pencil sketches. (If you've ever seen "Chasing Amy, this is what Benny did that got him called a "tracer").
