I didn't know they were going to do this! How awesome!...except I already have Shadow Puppets which I love! I haven't been able to get Asylum or Spike v Dracula so I think I'll get this...
So are the first 3 really that bad or worth a read?

I can't remember what it's called, but I really like the one-shot with halfrek. The one with Angel was good too.
Only one of those one-shots weren't worth the money, because I thought they were too out of character.

I picked this up today... Not being a Spike fan I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much as I did. I enjoyed 'Lost and Found' and 'Asylum' most and I loved the Darla, Cordy, and Harmony scenes. I am not a really big fan of 'Shadow Puppets (or 'Smile time', it might also have somthing to do with the Cordy/ Connor scenes in SP) .. and the art is some of the best ever.

I just ordered this, really looking forward to all of the stories (especially Asylum and Sahdow Puppets that I've yet to read).
I was wondering about the title, Volume 1. Does this mean we can expect a volume 2, featuring S:AtF and part of the Spike on-going, at some point in the future?

Oh, you're in for a treat, reading those stories for the first time.
I wonder if we'll get another Omnibus. I think that Spike Atf should be in the Angel after the fall complete hardcover and that the on-going series will get a seperate one (which will hopefully be in hardcover).
I just think it makes sense, since they're different stories.

If we were to get a second Spike omnibus, I don't see why S:AtF couldn't go in both that and the Complete A:tF Collection That said, I don't see where it'd go it in the book without it being too much of a break from the Hell-A narrative. I can see it fitting better with the other Spike stories.

I figure Spike Atf should be after Angel Atf. Makes the most sense to me, since it's a seperate arc, but part of the same story.
Similar name + built around the same events makes me think it should be in the complete HC, so the story won't be split.

Only one of those one-shots weren't worth the money, because I thought they were too out of character. Do you remember which one wasn't worth your money? I really wanted to get Spike: Old Times (the one with Halfrek) but wasn't too sure. Also, I thought Spike vs. Dracula was funny. It had a great ending too. Totally worth the $10 I got it for. ;D Since the new Buffy graphic novel doesn't come out to Borders until Feb 24, I'm going to spend my money on that Spike omnibus and the other one-shots like Spike: Old Times.

I actually liked all the one-shots....the one about the Black dahlia muurder was probably my least favorite....but the Halfrek and Gem of Amara ones were a riot. On the topic of the Omnibus.....to quote the queen: "we are not amused". I went to a huge amount of trouble (and a good deal of time) tracking down out-of-print collections like Asylum (well worth it)......only to find out about the omnibus. *grumble grumble* And its what, $20.00 on amazon....aaaagh! That said, it looks pretty and I might just buy it anyway. To be pathetic. Pathetic and broke.

The one with the black dahila (not sure what it's called, check wiki) was the last good one, because it seemed to out of character. You might still like it, but that and the art that was too realictic and stiff made it a bad read for me.
But over all, all one shots are worth reading. Old Times is very good, so go ahead and bye the omnibus and read them all.

Angel one shot?
I think all three one shots in the omnibus takes place after Spike comes to LA, and all three series are set during angel season 5 (but Spike vs Dracula is also set in the past).

I just got the omnibus not to long ago too and felt compelled to find a suitable place for them in the timeline and its in here: forum.slayalive.com/index.cgi?board=library&action=display&thread=8446My favorite was the amara one but I was kind of scratching my head at how quick Angel kept jumping to the conclusion it had something to do with the gem of amara. In fact two seasons earlier (As appose to four seasons earlier when the gem appeared), There's an ep where a vampire is running around in daylight and healing from stakes because he had his heart removed.

I don't think there is another comic that's called Spike and collects the three stories you mentioned. Would be cool if you had discovered one tough.
