Shame the stories are crap
The Curse is ok I guess, Old Friends is very repetitive, Auld Lang Syne is a total waste of time, and basically exactly the same as "Old Friends" except with old enemies instead of old allies Spotlight ranges from good (Illyria, Wesley) to ok (Doyle, Connor) to beyond terrible (Gunn)

I bought all of these anyway, just because they were Angel, but most of the stories are terrible. Brian Lynch pretty much saved the franchise for IDW with "Spike Asylum". The only other writer that really got it was Peter David, who wrote the Illyria spotlight and also Spike vs. Dracula, wich was also really fun.

I already have these books individually. So I might not pick this up unless I have some extra money and NOTHING else is out for me to buy.

What sucks is that I own Spotlight, and the first two issues of Auld Lang Syne, and I think I've read the other two. But I still want it!

I want Darkhorse to release the original run of Angel comics in omnibus form. I have never read them and that would be pretty cool.
But I'll definitely get this.

"Angel: Masks," which has never been included in a TPB before, should be in here. I'm not going to trust this until IDW or Ryall confirms it. Amazon posted a hardcover Angel collection ad for all of this + Masks last summer, and it never came out.

I have it on pre-order... I think I pre-ordered this a while ago... and completely forgot about it. Oh well... can't be much worse than the quality of the Buffy Omnibuses (right?).

Hehe I wouldn't know as I haven't read any of these stories. I'm mostly picking it up to support Angel/IDW, like I did with the Buffy Omnibuses. I'm sure they are entertaining enough to at least read once.

The last Buffy omnibus was good, Wex. Much better than three or four.

The last Buffy omnibus was good, Wex. Much better than three or four. I'll agree that #5 was better than #3 and 4, but as a whole, it still left a lot to be desired. But I'm an eternal optimist. I just checked the status of my pre-order on Amazon, and the release date is still set for sometime in December. So... it's possible that I'm not gonna get my copy till then. *shrug*

Don't know what to make of this. I've read a few of them already: The Curse, Old Friends etc... and to be honest they were all pretty meh. They are good for one read and then that's it...nothing special.

Does anyone know how 'canon' these stories are?
