I was wondering why there was no thread for this. So here's what it is. It's a hardcover that collects the following:

-Tales of the Vampires: Carpe Noctem (the two-part story from MySpace Dark Horse Presents, tying into S8's vampire chic storyline)
-Tales of the Vampires: The Thrill (one-shot from June 2009)
-Tales of the Vampires #1-5 (from the original Tales of the Vampires series)
-Tales of the Slayers: Broken Bottle of Djinn
-Tales of the Slayers TPB (the original trade collection of the Tales of the Slayers)

That's a lot of tales.

Okay so basically, I've been collecting ALL of the S8 paperback trades and I was miffed that they left out their Tales oneshot. Then they stated they would recollect Season Eight in hardcover editions. Considering how much extra money I would spend, I decided I would opt out and just stick with the trades. It looks like with this HC, my Season Eight collection would be complete.

Just added the cover image. Apparently they're reusing an old cover. Or maybe it's just a placeholder image, since we're supposed to get a "new" cover from Chen.

I believe it was mentioned at one point by someone (maybe Allie) that there will be HC's, a type of "Absolute Season 8" or "Collectable Edition". In my opinion it is a no brainer, because there are enough dumb-dumbs like me who will buy any version that they put out! (No offense to any fellow dumb dumbs out there)

I kinda wish I'd known about this earlier, or I would have held off on buying Tales of the Slayers.

Ah well. I don't have Tales of the Vampires AND this one includes all the Tales from Season Eight. Reason enough for me to buy it. Carpe Noctem <333

I don't think that's officially been called canon, and I hope it never will. HUGE continuity error that ruins the story, but otherwise a fun read.

All Tales of the Vampires/Slayers stories are canon AFAIK.

Amber Benson wrote a story for Tales of the Slayers about a French Slayer during the French Revolution (circa 1789). It was pretty neat, but Tales of the Slayers is dominated by Righteous, probably my favorite Slayer story that isn't Fray. <33

Meh this they give us in a hardcover but the rest are in paper back. . shame. Probably still pick this up but if they can do this in HC then why not all the trade collections for season 8, eh? Probably a profit thing for when they do actaully release season 8 in HC.

and i agree with you HH. I loved Amber Benson's story no doupt, but my favorites of TotS (in order) are Righteous, First Slayer, Tales, and The Innocent(which is Amber's).

In scott Allies latest Q &A he seemed to imply that there would be a brand new Jo Chen cover for this. Cant wait to see it!!

PS slightly unrelated but who else would love to see a Tales of the Demons series, maybe with an Anyaka story or Clem!? Maybe a Tales of the Watchers? I love all the different stories we get out of these.
