It's what I'm good at. Here are some Buffy-themed things I've sewn: Horrace: The mark of Gachnar: Symbol: Christmas decorations I made:

O.O Omg! That's so amazing! The Mutant Enemy guy is soooo perfect! And so is the Buffy sign! Did you make them by memory? Really, really cool. A neat way to do some fan art, for sure.

These are so cool!!! I'd love to have an X-mas tree covered in those ornaments. Do you sew them all by hand?

I found an old doll of mine that I didn;t have the heart to throw away, so I decided to modify her. The aim was to turn this: into this: And this is how it worked out:

I really like her! Before clicking the spoiler, I was a bit skeptical based on how cutesy the doll is, but I think you really pulled it off.

I like to sew as well. Could yo give some more details - the type of yarn you made the Grrargh demon with The stitch you used (a closeup of the stitches would be great - some of the pics are a bot fizzy to see the actual stitches. BTW - your embroidery is fantastic!! the fabric you used (any preferences?)
And the doll remake - exceptional!

Thanks everyone I think the stitch I use is called split stitch, sort of like back stitch but going through the previous thread. I use basic thread, Anchor thread to be specific (that be the brand name). I tend to use two strands so that I can use the split stitch. I tend to use whatever fabric is lying around the house (we have a chest of drawers full of fabric). The christmas decarations are velvet, the mark of gachnar satin and the others are just plain cotton I think. I have done work on silk before, I might upload some pictures of my non buffy-related works at some point. I think my fabourite to work on is probably cotton because it's easily available, though it was quite pleasant to work with the satin. And as for a close up of the stitching I hope this works:

That's brilliant, Scar! And I found your Illyria doll to be a splitting image of the picture-- it's uncanny. Did you paint the doll and then mold boots for her? I love seeing the different types of fanart out there. Graphics, customs, painting/drawing may be more common, but it's always refreshing to see different types of art.

The boots were already made, but they were originally silver so I painted them to be black. I used acrylic paint for her body and hair (I tried dying it but it didn't work well because it's made of plastic) and acetate pen for her face.

Thanks for the closeup. It was good enough for me to see. I will post a picture of some of my embroidery (later). I've only embroidered on cotton. I will have to try satin and silk some time.

I did a lot of cross-stitch as a child 'cos my grandmother kept buying them for me. Then I took textiles for GCSE at which point I started doing alot of embroidery, so I actually did most of my first embroidery on a sewing machine! I might put up some pictures of my school embroideries. My teacher said I couldn't do my whole project by machine embroidery so I involved more hand embroidery as well. I really enjoy to sew
