In the past, used to listen to depressing music, when I was depressed, and it would help because I would feel less alone. I would listen to alot of Nine Inch Nails, and Evanescence, and I would usually have bother by stone sour on repeat at some point. Now when I get upset, I find that if I can sing along to something, I will start feeling better. So lately, it has been the Glee soundtrack that has been there for me. Although I'm much happier at this point in my life, and don't really need to rely on music to make me feel better very often.

Stand in the Rain by Superchick, for sure. So cheesy inspirational, but I love it.

I usually listen to upbeat and sugary electronic bands like Owl City (Captains and Cruise Ships, Rainbow Veins), and Hellogoodbye (Oh, It Is Love, I Saw It on your Keyboard) when I'm feeling depressed.
I find Saving Jane (Imperfection, Mary, One Girl Revolution, Supergirl), Pink (Cuz I Can, So What) and Sara Bareilles (Fairytale, King of Anything) really great for when I need motivation.

^^Why do you say you will be depressed for another five years?
Oh, and Unhearted by Automatic Loveletter (when love in particular is depressing me). When all things life are depressing me, it's Just a Thought by Gnarls Barkley.

When I was younger I had severe anxiety. I listened to Conversations with my 13 year-old-self by Pink a lot to help me through that, and because I was around 13 at the time I'd imagine a future version of myself who had come through this and was happier singing it to me to comfort me. Now I'm better nad much more confident so when I listen to it I imagine singing it to my 12 or 13 year old self, therefore in a way it came true.
I listen to the charity single Just Stand Up when I'm feeling sorry for myself and need to get my resolve back and Best Of Me from Britannia High to give myself confidence if people start trying to push me down and tell me I'm not good enough.

I always listen to Stronger by Britney Spears if I am upset or need a confidence boost as it makes me feel indestructible and full of energy and like I can take on the world. It is my theme song

Welcome To Wherever You Are - Bon Jovi
I know I probably sound like some crazy fangirl but I really would suggest listening to it. If you listen to the lyrics it's really inspiring.

I actually listen to really depressing stuff when I'm depressed, which is probably not smart. Anything from Sarah McLachlan, Fiona Apple, or Garbage usually does the trick. I'm such a 90's girl. ;D

Garbage = favorite band ever. They have gotten me through life. For reals. One of my favorites. Shirley Manson is love. Lately it's been "Breaking up the Girl" for me. "In this dangerous world, there's an art to growing old. Taking chances. Magic happens." My music tastes are incredibly varied. I know that Hilary Duff "Dignity" album has gotten me through some rough times... the song, "Burned" in particular. Wet Blanket by Metric. Actually pretty much anything by Metric. Fiona Apple. These are my reflection, self-pity wallowing songs/albums. But, I find when I really need to be uplifted, nothing works better than Michael Jackson. I actually feel my blood pressure drop.

When I was younger and used to get depressed I would always listen to Evanescence, which would usually make things worse.
These days I usually go for Tik Tok (so I can jump around in my crazy Grey's-Anatomy-style way that I do) or Spice Girls, because you just can't be sad while the Spice Girls are in the background bellowing "Spice up your life!"

Like nearly every here, pretty much any Evanescence song helped me whenever I was upset, I guess they made me feel like I wasn't alone and that there was someone else out there that was also depressed or going through something similiar.
Also, Come Home by Eyes Set To Kill helped me too, because the lyrics hit so close to home, I could have written them myself.
Another song or two that have helped would be Bring It All Back or pretty much any other song by S Club 7, because I find it really hard to be upset when I'm listening to what used to be my favourite band and reminiscing all of the good times I had when I was younger.

^^ Aww... Sounds like a rough time. I hope things get better for you, sweetie. PS, you're new Gaga banner is beautiful! Love the way she blends into the border. Okay, here's an oldie but a goodie. I listen to this song a lot when I need to convince myself to suck it up and push forward. My favorite lines... Naturally, I'm worried if I do it alone. Who really cares, cause it's your life you never know, it could be great. Take a chance cause you might grow. And every time she says life is short, you're capable, or you're still a super-hot female, I think... "Frak yeah!"

Thanks Drucakes! I love my banner too but I am bias I am glad you like it because it is a bit more experimental than my usual style I wouldn't say I am going through a rough time as much as a frustrating one. Thanks for your concern And now on to Gwen Stefania. A topic I could go on and on about for days! WYWF is such an epic song! It is actually a HUGE inspiration for me too! I haven't gotten it yet but it i in the works...I am getting a lyric from WYWF as a tattoo. It is actually a line that originated in my favorite No Doubt song called Beauty COntest. Gwen liked it so much that she brought it into her first solo single (WYWF). The line is "Born to blossom. Bloom to perish" I think that is so beautiful and inspiring!
