Cool article. But that's a black chick, not an asian one. I could of course be wrong, but the clothing is also very different. Someone must ask joss some day. I have to agree. It was a great article thou fun to read its amazing how mush we all think about this. I kind of like the pink teddybear thing.

alycat you're right but on the other hand a viewer/reader may form his/her own opinion about a character so this article is just a reader's analysis which happens to be very good. Now when it comes to comic books the writer is in constant communication with the artist and gives him/her specific details about the faces of the characters and their movements for it is of the same importance as in the movies, Jeanty 's work is incossistent but that doesnt mean that the expressions are false, it would be a major blowout to the comic if the majority of the expressions were accidentaly drawed . Good point, i guess i still have a hard time with the transition from tv-to-comics. If it was the show, i'd figure that every expression no matter how small was done on purpose and very important. With the comics, im still in the mindframe that they just drew her in the background to fill up the panel.

Well i guess it can be difficult if one isnt used to reading comic books or graphic novels Always remmber that nothing is scetched or placed in the panel for no reason or just to fill it up , Joss or whoever is writing the script of the issue has written every panel detail. Sometimes when the artist may have a suggestion to add something up he always contacts the writer and if the writer approves his idea then it ends up in the comic book .

That's right. I would think actor's interpretations or apathy would lead to more mistakes in TV than an artists work in a comic book because of what Faith0tvs said. A comic writer doesn't just write down his dialogue and let the artists go they explain every panel in detail so it is safer to say that every detail of a comic book is exactly how the author intended it where directors, leads, extras and even crew members can misinterpret what should be up on the screen.
Like on Angel in "the Girl in Question" when Andrew opens the door and there are hot girls there, Joss said that there were suppose to be Hot girls AND boys there to contribute to the mystery of his Sexual orientation...but he did not communicate that well enough and as a result we get a lost detail.

I'll start paying more attention to the comics from now on.

I like the idea of Serenity: Browncoats. That would be interesting.
