Monsters Vs Aliens, a fun kids film that zips along nicely and has some great characters.

Ladder 49. Well.. I got maybe 3/4 of the way through before I had to stop it actually. I'd already seen it once before, so I knew what happened, and I was bawling before I got halfway through, and I just had to turn it off.

Watches The Negotiator yesterday. Nice performances from Kevin Spacey and Samuel L. Jackson, but overall I thought it was pretty standard Hollywood thriller fare.

Saw District 9. Was pretty meh. Liked the premise, hated how the story went, hated most of the "characters". Totally agree. I thought the only people who didn't love it were me and my boyfriend - we just couldn't get into the story after the first... half hour, I guess. The premise seemed good, and so did the trailers, but I hated where they went with it. The last movie I saw was A Perfect Getaway. Wasn't as bad a movie as I thought I'd be, but at the same time, I don't think I really liked it either. The twist was weird, but if you think about it, kind-of predictable.

The Final Destination 3D. Horrible horrible movie. The death's were lame and the 3D sucked. Thank god they are done with these films.

I watched Death Race. The new one, with Jason Statham. Man that man is hott. *drool*
Oh, the movie wasn't bad either. Not wonderful, but MILES better than (1975) Death Race 2000 starring young Sylvester Stallone *shudders*

I watched Duplicity tonight. From the same guy that wrote Michael Clayton, so... comparison. It was easier to follow than Michael Clayton, but therefore it wasn't quite as layered. Everything follows a pretty standard logical line of thought with no major surprises. Still worth watching though. Julia Roberts and Clive Owen are very beautiful people.

I watched a dvd of Demetri Martin's stand-up act. It was very, very funny, but there was one segment that didn't do much for me.

Taking Woodstock. If you are expecting to see lots of the music festival, then you'll probably be disappointed. The event is merely the backdrop, and you mostly get a romanticized snapshot (like one of those old yellowed Polaroids) of the festivities and madness. Front and center however, it's a coming of age story of sorts. Lots of non-sexualized nudity which I found refreshing. Pretty good, albeit a little long.
Going to watch Ponyo tonight! Excited!
