Wouldn't it be a cool twist if Laura is actually the human form of Rowant Mor and she's been working in cahoots with James this whole time?
Reasons why:
*Aside from Angel, James made Laura a victim--definitely a reason to not suspect her.
*Laura's advice on killing Lyss was completely whack. If anything, all it did was distract the team and seriously weaken Illyria.
*Laura claims to be a former Watcher. I don't think Angel Investigations has any way of confirming this. Also Laura has admitted to being over 60 years old and she looks like she's in her late twenties/early thirties. Way possible she's into magicks more than she's letting on.
*Laura had told Connor to not completely trust the Sisterhood of Jaro Hull. While this is valid advice, it can be a key point of Laura's behavior if the Sisterhood turns out to be completely benevolent.
*Laura's mission was to rescue Angel and take down Innovation Labs. While Laura did kill all of the newborns in the facility, this is something that would benefit James' plan. He wants to breed humans, not vampires. Also, Laura did attempt to rescue Angel, but ultimately she didn't - it was Illyria. Apparently, it was her effort to rescue him that got her to be a member of his team. I personally think Angel let her into his home too quickly.
*Laura clearly has the ability to work against a group from the inside. She was able to fake out Innovation Labs with the promise of perfecting the soul transfer. It's very possible that she's playing Angel Investigations right now.
*If Laura is a villain, this would be a way to write her out of the story so that only characters from the TV show would transfer over to Dark Horse.
