Yeah i like Moment 4 life as well I hope she releases that one. I also want her to release Blazin.
Her rap is crazy, sometimes i get the impression that she'll mention Buffy in one of her songs, lol.

But I still like Roman's Revenge because its just so out there and they both really go in on it. At first I was like "rah rah like a dungeon dragon"...what the heck is that? That must have been a late replacement. There's another version of the song with another hook (which fits better imo): www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXz0QvljYiwShe's terrible. Can't rap. I enjoyed her song with Eminem though, because he embarassed her. Romans revenge? Really? I thought she killed him in that song. His sections seem to drag so much for me whereas I find hers just well, awesome. Fo serious? Her verses are garbage: "Hang it up, flat screen" ... "Force-trauma, blunt" Very weak weak rhyming and punchlines. Eminem was mean, even though he's spit better this year: "keep acting as if you have the same passion I have yeah right, still hungry, my ass You ass-dicks had gastric bypass" "life’s hard, I swear to God life is a dumb blonde white broad with fake tits and a bad dye job who just spit in my f-cking face and called me a f-cking tightwad so finally I broke down and bought her an iPod and caught her stealing my music so I tied her arms and legs to the bed set up the camera and pissed twice on her look, two pees and a tripod!"

At first I was like "rah rah like a dungeon dragon"...what the heck is that? That is a reference to the classic song "Scenario" by a Tribe Called Quest. You have to wait until Busta Rhymes verse towards the end.

@henzinnit : I never heard the original before. Sounds pretty whack to me, the audio on the hook seems so off I wonder how legit it is. Either way, I think the final version is a big improvement. I don't agree that her lyrics are "garbage". I mean honestly on a scale of lyrical wit "hang it up, flat-screen" is just about even with "you ass-dicks" in my book. I'm not saying Nicki is a genius, but I don't think she's garbage either considering the artists who want to work with her, including Eminem himself. jellymoff: Ooh cool. Thanks for the info.

Well it's definitely legit because it's clearly Nicki and Eminem doing the hooks. It's not mastered though cause it's a leak so it's not fine-tuned like the album version. I prefer it myself, I think the hook fits better and they both just get down to business with less of the audio fiddling.

Oh god the original version of Roman's Revenge is awful. You also chose the worst Nicki Minaj part. Eminem's flow is just off in the song. It's just yelling and so does not mesh with the beat at all, especially the part you quoted. He also rhymes off with off ... three times. Nicki's first verse isn't great, minus the "I'm a bad bitch, I'm a c--t! And I'll kick that hoe - punt!" Which is just awesome. But her second verse? She so murders Eminem.
Is this the thanks that I get for putting you b-tches on? is it my fault that all of you bitches gone? shoulda sent a thank you note, you little ho now I’ma wrap your coffin with a bow “N-N-N-Nicki, she’s just mad ’cause you took the spot” word, that bitch mad ’cause I took the spot? Well, bitch, if you ain’t sh-tting, then get off the pot Got some n-ggas out in Brooklyn that’ll off your top I-I-I-I hear them mumbling, I hear the cackling I got ‘em scared, shook, panicking overseas, church, Vatican you at a stand, still, mannequin you wanna sleep on me? Overnight? I’m the motherf-cking boss, overwrite and when I pull up, vroom, motorbike now all my n-ggas gettin’ bucked, overbite I see them dusty-ass Filas, Levi’s raggedy-ass, holes in your knee-highs I call the play, now do you see why? these b-tches calling me Manning, Eli (Manning, Eli!) Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-Manning, Eli These bitches calling me (Manning, Eli)
I dunno. For me, Nicki just kills Eminem in this.

^ It's better than the first verse but there's nothing special there either. Em doesn't just rhyme "Off" several times, it's multi-syllable rhyming. Ironically, while Em rhymes "peel off" with "wheel off", Nicki is actually rhyming the same words twice above: like the "took the spot"s, and whatever the hell the Manning Eli bit is.
But different strokes and all that.

Fair enough. It's weird cause I like Eminem's second verse better than his first as well. The first two verses seem to be warmup to the rest of the song when the two of them actually go for it.
Now that I've listened to her CD all the way through several times now I can officially say my opinion on it. It's really damn good and addictive but I can't help but be slightly disappointed. There's too many pop-oriented songs in my opinion. I like it more when she goes hard and sounds pissed, so some of the more pop songs don't work for me that much. I like all the songs on the cd except for Right Thru Me which is just straight up garbage in my opinion. I hope her next single is Moment 4 Life or Blazin. I would say Romans Revenge, but way too much swearing in the song so it would be pretty useless on the radio.

I have never heard of this singer/rapper until seeing this thread so have been and listened to a few of her songs and she is pretty good. I don't usually like rap (except Eminem who I adore) but I kind of like her so am downloading her album as we speak

Yay Whitecandy!
I have been listening to this non stop for a few days every time I get in the car!
I have to say that I really prefer the origional version of Roman's Revenge!
Also, I love Im the Greatest!
She is also featured on Rihanna's new album, Loud. The song is called Raining Men and it is AWESOME! Way better then the Rihanna collaboration on Nicki's album called Fly. I don't dislike Fly but IMO it is one of the weaker songs on her album.
I think my favorite song on the album is Muny! I am addicted to it!

I'm glad you've got the album whitecandy, what did you think of it?
I love Here I am.
I wonder what her first week sales are going to be because I heard rumours that she's estimated to sell 250,000 copies in her first week. If so I think she'd have the highest first week sales for a female rapper.

She sold 395,000 or something like that. I just checked it earlier today, it was just a tiny bit under 400,000. She was number 2, only behind Kanye West who like released his album on the same day. Pretty good for a debut.

I like Nicki Minaj. I think she's definitely more Hip Pop, but that's not a bad thing. It's hard to break into the industry these days and you have to connect with mainstream.
I'm seeing her live on Friday.

^I'm jealous.
"Music videos for four additional tracks are planned: "Moment 4 Life" featuring Drake, "Save Me", "Fly" featuring Rihanna, and "Girls Fall Like Dominoes"
Yay! Moment for Life is getting a video, I'm super excited for that.

Damn, she's sold a lot more than Rihanna's first week sales already. I wonder what Lil Kim is thinking? She must be well pissed off.

I'm glad you've got the album whitecandy, what did you think of it? I really really like it actually, not so keen on a couple of the songs but love most of them. I think I prefer her rapping to her singing, as when she sings really ballady soulful stuff she sounds too much like Rihanna but saying that some of her singing stuff is great too. Sounds like this album has been doing well in the charts although she is at number 34 in the UK charts which is still good for a debut!

It's pretty bad. It starts off alright but it's way too freaking long and just drags. There's not enough solid lyrics to make it an actual good diss track.
Plus there's this where Nicki finally talks about Lil Kim. She's surprisingly mature in her response to the whole issue.

It's kinda catchy but I still think Nicki Minaj is the best female rapper now, Lil kims days are now over. Nicki minaj did say that lil kim was one of her idols and kim should be proud of herself and respect Nicki for looking up to her. Instead Kim still thinks she's 25 years old and playing rivalry with somebody who's sold like 370,000 copies in her first week. I think it's clear who's won this war. She mentioned Eve, I used to love Eve back in the days. I used to watch the series Eve and the Barbershop films and i've got her 3 albums. Thanks for that lightandmagic. Yeah everything's good (with lil kims voice) that was hilarious.
