I really don't think Faith will turn her back on Buffy. She knows what happened when she went down that road. But obviously she's going to have to make it seem like she will. I'm just hoping she doesn't die at the end of the arc. Although the cover for next months issue does seem to imply that Faith is changing and letting go of her old ways by throwing her clothes into a fire or apparently being ON fire. What she's burning is the debutante dress. My guess: Big battle. Big fire. Gigi in it. Our girl leaving it all behind.

EASILY the best issue so far. I loved every single thing about it. It was great to see witty Buffy again. I absolutely loved the part with her and Willow. The fight between Buffy and GiGi kicked major ass, but it doesn't compare to Buffy and Faith fighting. It was so shocking and sad. I'm thinking Buffy's gunna be mega pissed at Giles.
I also think Georges did a great job getting Sarah's likeness this issue. I'm so excited for the next issue. What's Faith gunna do? It seems like she doesn't even care enough to live anymore. And I loved the Buffy throwing up.

Oh...good times. This was a great issue. Loved that Faith was bonding with somebody but was torn...because 'it's always about her.' LOL. Faith vs. Buffy. Always a good one.
In the comments at the end, Scott actually said it was revealed who kissed Buffy. It wasn't completely clear to me, though. It could've been Satsu but Xander's look after the kiss happened, and Willow's 'avoidance' look after Buffy asked 'who kissed me?' makes me want to think it was one of those two, as well. If it were established who did it, wouldn't there be more said about it? Wouldn't Buffy acknowledged her idea on finding out about it in an internal monologue? I'm still confused. It just wasn't as clear to me as Scott says.

Satsu kissed Buffy. Joss confirmed this to me, himself. (Weird as it sounds yes...but I met him @ this year's comic-con)
Okay so this issue (despite all the preview pages seen) was the best yet! Everything was spot on!!
I liked that Buffy and Faith fought. If I were Buffy I would have done the same thing. I am so happy Buffy knocked Gigi down a peg or two. I was simply SICK of her holier than though BS. Buffy is the best afterall!!!
Also, I am really hoping that Giles will clear the air for Buffy...or at least in a way so that she will not hold anything against Faith. But I am sure Buffy will be mad at Giles...again. So, the big question is, will Faith survive Issue 9? Thoughts??

I wonder if Giles will survive Buffy's anger? LOL. He lied to her, and went behind her back again, let her out of the loop. He's done that too many times. Is the council and the power going to corrupt him??
Thank goddess. It was really bugging me not knowing for sure, and doing the speculating. I'm glad it was Satsu that kissed her, and not the other two...it'll bring up some interesting questions later. I wonder if Willow will be jealous because a girl kissed Buffy, and it wasn't her best lesbian friend? LOL. I thought it'd be odd that Xander would find out his kiss was love for Buffy, and then he'd turn around and flirt with Renee.
As for this issue, I'm glad to see the Willow/Buffy bonding thing back in the swing. It really died as the seasons progressed, and it's good to see them getting their friendship back in order.
I, too, wonder if Faith will survive...not just physically. She gets to retire after this (according to the deal she made with Giles), so will she be able to survive that even?

It's just crazy to me to see Faith lose "the spirit" of slaying. I just got done watching Faith, Hope & Trick and she is completely different now. It's almost as if she doesn't wanna be a slayer anymore! She doesn't have the will to fight! She used to be so gung-ho about it all!! And Buffy was the complainy one.
I really hope to see the return of a more chipper, fun Faith. That's the one I love. While I do appreciate the tragic, dismal-ness...I do like some funny banter and sexy Faith some as well!
If Faith gets killed off I will feel kinda ripped off.
She needs to come full circle first. She can't go out all sad and depressed. That would be....depressing.

I agree. It only says that she'll face a tough time...can't remember the exact wording Scott used but I kinda will feel like being ripped off if she dies at the end of this one, as well.

This just keeps getting better and better doesn' it?
I seriously don't want Faith to be killed off, it would be a real shame. If this comic is really in it for the long run, we need Faith to pop up now and again, surely.
Also, we don't have Faith's back story since end S7. I know Joss (I think it was him) said that the back stories of all the characters would come in little snippets over time. It therefore doesn't seem right that Faith would be killed off just like that so early on......whaddya you guys think?

I'm really undecided about whether or not i enjoyed this issue. And i don't think its because we had already seen 7 pages. I must agree that buffy is looking better and i think its good to see willow in normal clothes. Dunno about buffy saying that its okay to kill bad humans and what she said to faith was way out of line. Can't wait to see how this arc plays and bring on the 2 standalones!

Also, there is a page when buffy is talking to willow, i think at the bottom of that first page in the screen room, where it looks like buffy straight from an ep of the show. I mean, it's from behind but still, and also it looks like buffy's had a haircut, anyone agree?

The thing that I liked so much about the ending of this issue was that it was sort of left up in the air. Does Faith know that GiGi is behind her with an axe? Or does Faith know and just doesn't care if she gets killed. This is definitely one of the best Faith-centric episodes and I'm really looking forward to the conclusion. I highly doubt Faith will be killed so early on and it would be a big surprise if she is.

I really liked this issue. The whole Buffy jumping to conclusions and bitching out Faith makes me sad, it's like nothing she does will ever be good enough for Buffy. Now Buffy's going to be all mad and Giles and I'll have to read more of Buffy putting Faith down to Giles even though Faith just saved her from Roden and from being a killer herself . . .
I just hope Faith comes out okay at the end of this because she doesn't deserve the way she's been used by Buffy and her gang when it's convenient for them and it'd suck for Joss to bring her back in the comic just to kill her after one arc.

I love how Genevieve's surveillance room has a mirror ball. Also, Willow's outfit in this issue looked a lot more normal.

Just bought this issue, finally and I just wanna point out great Southland Tales placement. Smart move on the movie's part to aim to SMG fans.
Faith's likness is so jumpy, but I think in general you can tell who it is. Its bit of a younger Eliza then I would like, but it really works fine for me. The emotion that is in her face just works, so I can live with that. The last half of the issue with Faith jumping Buffy was so cool and well drawn. Alot came out between the two and Faith and Buffy have always been a favorite mirror duo of mine.
Willow looking good, looking normal.
A good solid issue, not the best of the arc, but it helps branch into what I am betting will be an spectacular issue 4.

I enjoyed this issue but I also have to agree that the art was either hit or miss. Buffy looked cute most of the issue with shorter hair. I didn't really understand what Buffy meant when she was calling Willow an egg head. Faith looked okay but not very much like Eliza Dushku. I'm really excited for the next issue, even more than usual because Faith has always been one of my favourite characters and I'm curious to see where she is (as a character) after this arc. Hopefully not dead! Whoever said someone else may (magically) be in her head, I understand what you mean. I'm not sure she's talking to the rage inside of herself or the rational side of her personality or if she really does have someone else "in her head" so to speak.
