True CBG... I definately feel this is more true to buffy the tv series than the preview that we got of the first issue where it was all high tech and flashy... Me too. I am willing to accept the use of high tech gadgets though. I always hoped they'd use more things like that in the show.

Thanks so much CBG! I think Georges did an amazing job getting the likeness of Eliza down. I'm also happy to see that Robin will be in the comic as well. Can't wait!

Thanks for the preview CBG, this one looks like it's going to be excellent! So nice to see Wood, shame they're not still together, but then Faith was never really the settling down type. Have a sneaky feeling that that preview is just the set up for the main story, not the main story itself........ And Faith's coming to England in this story thread - yay!!!!!!!!!!

Although we probably won't be getting 30 pages as advertised, I remember it saying in an interview somewhere not so long back, that says that #6 has gone over Dark Horse's standard 22 pages... Maybe it will be 24 pages like #1&2 but the more the better in my case.

I was under the assumption that Robin and Faith did not know they would be vampires. I think he meant to actually take care of them, as in help them to a shelter or something like that. Otherwise why would Faith have been surprised at the reveal they were already turned?? I think they knew, or at least feared that they were turned. If Wood just wanted to watch them, why turn to Faith whose caregiving skills are probably not as high as some others? After all, the other girls probably had more normal upbringings and did babysitting or had siblings. But they have probably killed very few vamps yet, and almost certainly no kids. Faith's reaction was probably not surprise, but rather disappointment. She probably hoped that at least some of the kids were still alive even though she expected the worst.

I don't think Wood, especially having dated Faith, would send her on a baby-sit mission.

I agree with whoever said that Robin did NOT know they were turned. By take of them I think he meant protect them. Not hang around and babysit protect them--go to the home and bring them to base safely protect them. I also think Robin chose Faith because she'd be able to keep her emotions under control when the children would be asking where their mother was while knowing about what happened to her.

I was wondering whether or not to read any of the new comics, and I'd like to thank you for putting up the first few pages here for me to read and help make up my mind... No way am I going to buy the s8 comics.
Sorry but the artwork doesn't look like the actors at all, and I cannot get into a story if everyone looks weird. I didn't even know that was supposed to be faith at first. I'm still gonna have a little hope that the angel comics will be better though.

The only comics I read before Season 8 was the old Buffy comic run, other then that, I'm not a comic person. But like Mikey said, this IS Buffy, it's canon, it's Joss. The artwork actually DOES look like the actors, mostly, and even if they didn't, would it matter? It's the still the characters. Give Season 8 a try instead of basing your opinion on a 5 page uncolored preview.

Well I don't read comics anyway. Not my thing. I didnt read comics at all! Then i heard Season Eight was going to be a comic book and I bought a few Btvs TPBs and they were great! Im also reading Angel comics now. At least pick up issue 1 and read it before you make a final decision.

Neither do I. But this is Buffy. The TV show. In the only form we can get it right now. Perfect way to sum it up. To pesk...I would say to pick up Issue 1 of Season 8. Read it and try to imagine it as if it were on screen, while reading. That might make it easier to adjust. This is the new Buffy. There isn't much hope for a new movie or show. Joss and Co. have said many times that this is how it will be for a long while. So you really should consider reading!!

Hmm ok I'll give it another try. You're right I should read a comic all the way through before judging it.
I don't like what I've seen so far,and I don't just mean the artwork, I've read spoilers about the plot for the first few comics and I'm not impressed. But its still joss and yeah hes prolly building to something big, so if I see it in a shop I'll give it a full read. And like I say I'm still looking forward to angel the comic.

Hey pesck, best thing to do is to avoid spoilers and then buy the comics. I mean it is the official continuation after all and you don't want to miss out on all of this canon material. I mean, I was never into comics until season 8 came about, except for Fray which was another canon buffyverse comic, written by the God, Joss Whedon.

I'm still gonna have a little hope that the angel comics will be better though. I read some where that the drawings arnt meant to look exactly like the human life characters. And its pretty hard to get the drawings to look bang like the actors and actress all them time. I think the art works is brilliant so far and the likeness have been good, iv recognized who people are so its all good.

I would like to see the gang go to England. See the new Watcher's Council, if there is one. I feel that Giles would feel more at home there training slayers and all but Cleavland does make sense considering the Hellmouth.
