I really love the abstract-ness of the regular cover, but that variant is just amazing! Why can't Georges do that IN the comic?
I'm interested to see what's going on with Dracula. Helping Xander? Or is a Xander under his thrall again?

Now I like this cover...This cover actually makes me like the first one better. I can see where he is going with the style for this arc. I like that they are very different in style from his "A Beautiful Sunset" cover and they are created to match the Japanese theme of this arc. If these cover are any indication to the tone of this arc then I think I'm going to be very pleased with what Drew gives us.

Does that variant cover shed any more light on the question of who is Buffy's betrayer by any chance?

The cover seems a bit depressing... I love it!

OH noes!!!! Maybe Xander is the betrayer after all? And with Dracula??!! Boo!!
Anyway I love the artistic style of Jon Foster! Both covers are great, but the tone of the first one is impeccable.
Maybe Xander is "bored" with being in Buffy's circle...and sees excitement in kicking it with Dracula?
OR what if Xander get's turned?! THAT would have us talking for years!

Interesting stuff! I love the regular cover. Nice likeness to Alyson Hannigan on the variant, though.
I like Drew Goddard a lot, he wrote a hell of a lot of stellar episodes, especially considering just how many episodes he wrote. I'm not sure how I feel about Dracula being back - quite how they're going to convey that toe-curling accent on paper is beyond - but I'm sure he'll pull it out of the bag. Looking forward to this one...
Who's the female figure in the background on the regular cover, do we know? Am I being dense?

A female appears on the issue 12 cover too. After reading the issue description it seems that they run into a group of vampire-werewolf hybrids and need OZ to help them! Dracula was never an ally...

A lone Xander cover yay! I just wish it wasn't as abstract, but I still like it. The variants are starting to eclipse the normal covers! This is definitely my fave so far. Can't wait for this to come out. :ecstatic:

I really like the covers. It is quite abstract, but I think it works well.
If anyone hasn't read "Tales of the Vampyrs" lol you should. Drew Goddard wrote a story ("Antique") that deals with Dracular and a "man servant", it looks like it will tie into this arc.
I'm super excited for this coming arc, I love Drew's writing. He wrote the funniest episodes (Well a tie with Jane Espensen). I can't wait to see what he does.

I wasn't a huge fan of Dracula in season 5 (I didn't hate him, he just didn't blow me away.) In a comic book, though, I would actually like to see him stick around as a recurring villain (or ally?)

Both covers look awesome. I'm starting to warm up to Jon's artwork.

OMG I was blown away by Georges cover. If he can make Buffy look like sarah michelle gellar in the actual book I will be over the moon. I also love Jon Foster's artwork as he does have a completely different style to Jo Chen and its nice to see something new. I wonder if he'll be doing the cover art for the 'Wolves at the Gate' TPB? Thats something I would like to see although I'd prefer them to be consistent so it would also be nice to see how Jo Chen takes this arc! I'm so confused right now!

Wow what AMAZING covers! I love the regular cover centered on Xander. Also it looks to me like that's Buffy and Willow in the background. May be Japanese vamps but I don't think so. Dracula YAY! I knew he was coming back. I think it refers to him as an 'ally' because he used to be to Xander when he was under his thrall (and may be again by the looks of the variant) The variant is so cool, Georges really nailed all of their likenesses. Can't wait for this arc!

Gotta love the motorcycle with the side-carriage dealy. Something like 90% of old school kookiness involves a side carriage dealy in some way, and I love old school kookiness, so hurrah.

Who's the female figure in the background on the regular cover, do we know? Am I being dense? MB x Looks like Willow and maybe Dawn or Buffy. Buffy and Willow both know someone will betray her, so maybe the message of the cover is that Willow and Buffy ARE speaking and Xander is the betrayer. I love both of these covers.

OH GOD! I love Dracula on Buffy! I hope he hangs around for a while, he's amazing. And Drac hanging with Xander has some great yaoi connotations. Doesn't have to be cannon, but it's still fun.

I may be alone but I really disliked Dracula on Buffy and I'm not really looking forward to his appearance. That said, I really like the Foster cover...it's pretty damned...well pretty. It makes me really like the cover for #12 more because now I see the style he's going for. As for the Jeanty cover...meh... I've never really liked his covers but his art is getting much much better the last few issues.
