Don't worry gang, this contest isn't being ignored. Actually I received word that IDW chose a winner, and that the highest voted concept was not approved. An announcement should be made tomorrow, or the day after at the latest by Kevin.
I just want everyone to understand that this first month's contest was plagued by a few kinks that we needed to work out. And that future monthly contests will run much more smoothly. This was a new thing for me, as well as Kevin and TST.
With that said, the next submission stage for Issue 3 will start VERY soon. And things will be made more clear as far as rules and things are concerned.
Also, ALL entries will be posted at the same time. Last time we had a few late entries, which screwed it all up. From now on it will be fixed.

Time and Space Toyes - Buffy Collector Club posted the winners name and info. Here is a copy of the text. Congratulations to Erin Waggoner!
Joss Whedon, Brian Lynch and ERIN WAGGONER continue to tell the tale of Angel after the climactic battle that ended the Angel television series. Between the array of new enemies and fallen former friends—not to mention the state of Los Angeles itself—can Angel possibly find a reason to go on? Can some familiar faces help provide that reason?
Erin's winning cover concept entry was chosen by IDW to be interpreted and drawn by comic artist Stephen Mooney for the special limited edition cover for issue No. 2. Erin will be credited for the cover concept and will receive the $400 prize package! Erin's winning entry is as follows...
"There's a broken clock tower barely illuminated in the background, stuck on a perpetual dusk or dawn, you choose. Angel is riding the dragon, only he's standing on it, as though he is overlooking the city below, one leg propped up Captain Morgan-like, sword to his side. The shadows on his face give him a "questionable" look...the question being, 'is he in vamp or human visage?' Giving it a metaphoric 'is he a demon or angel' savior?"
Erin's cover is being created right now and will be shown here as soon as it is finished. The inset photo above shows the two standard covers being used for this issue. Eisner-winning artist Tony Harris once again supplies the standard cover, and series artist Urru provides a variant cover.

Wow! Congrats Erin! Way to go! Your description is truly great. You can really picture the scene as you read it.

I loved that cover concept! I think I voted for it, but there was another similar one so I forget Congrats! Edit: I was curious to see what Stephen Mooney's art was like, so I did a Google search. This seems to be his official web site. I like the style, and can't wait to see his cover for this issue!

BCC just emailed a reminder about submitting our issue #3 concepts, and has a link to the issue #2 cover concept that has been finished. But I get a BCC member sign-in box when I click the link. I don't think I ever got my membership set up, and I can't see the cover... help?

Your username will be your e-mail address and your password should be "BCC(first three letters of your last name)(last four numbers of your phone number)", no spaces. At least that is how mine was created. Give that a try. If it doesn't work, you will have to contact BCC.

BTW, the finished cover based on Erin's idea looks great. Where is the clocktower though? When I voted for that concept, that is what stood out in my "mental" picture. Besides Angel riding the dragon, the clocktower was a key part of the cover. Oh well, the cover looks great anyway!!!!

That's weird. I didn't get that email. I am definitely a member. I was sent a password and all that. I wonder why I didn't get the email though.

Awww...he even put a 'For Erin' where he signed his name. Awesome... I too noticed the lack of the clocktower...that was my big metaphor for the scene...but it's still super awesome!!! :jump:

Should I send Stephen a formal thank you, or is that tacky? LOL.

I'll have to send them an email... I just figured that maybe I missed something obvious about logging in! That's weird. I didn't get that email. I am definitely a member. I was sent a password and all that. I wonder why I didn't get the email though. I have the opposite problem...

I have e-mailed several times and never heard back. If anyone who can help please let me know, thanks Hi. I'm the winner for issue #9 and I haven't received all my stuff yet either. I have gotten a response though (last received on September 9, 2008)...here it is: "nothing new has been released since then. It will ship to you as it comes in, we have you in our pre-order list so it is automatic. Thanks Kevin" I seriously doubt I'll see anything else other than what I've gotten already (about half). I also haven't received my TST/BCC #12 cover either. Has anyone?
