Faith! There's something so appealing to me about a bad Slayer. Plus, she was hot! Yes, I really wish Eliza had done the spin-off that Joss pitched to her. I know she had Tru Calling then, but how cool would that have been? I hope we get to see more of Eliza as Faith, not just as in the comics, but at least in a TV movie someday.

Glory and the First were both really good, but Glory beats the First out I think. Glory was great and just such a new style of evil. I loved the way she had to share the body of Ben.

glory was so much fun to watch. her goal was always present, yet she still had time and energy to fuss about her dress and hair. i found her hilarious! i really liked the gentlemen and sweet! they are truly my fave, but they were each only one ep.

I voted for Angelus. The personal connection to Buffy made Season 2 all the more painful... and all the better.
However, the Mayor was probably the most interestingly characterized villain for me. Any time he was in a scene he was immensely entertaining. However, he didn't have that same emotional connection that Angelus did.
While Season 5 is my favorite season, I must say that Season 2 and 3 had the best villains. Not only did you have the two I mentioned, but also Spike, and Dru, and Faith... fantastic. :-)

It's mighty sad to see Willow in second place lol.
The best I'd say is Angelus. My fav is probably the Mayor, but I voted Caleb as he had no votes and deserves some.

Spike was also up there when he was bad (then spuffy happened) Gareth Yeah.....Thats my new replacement for shit happens "Spuffy Happens'' I really liekd evil spike and I even like chiped Spike but then souled spike reared his ugly head. I already made my dislike for Spuffy era Spike known in the worst vilians thread! *gives evils, then wanders off to read more Spuffy fanfic* Glory got my vote. She was an equal match for Buffy t fighting, funny, and just about the only one with a decent backstory and motive, unlike the others who were all "lets destroy the whole world just for kicks". Though I did like the Mayor a lot too. And Angelus, but only in the episode of Angel where he gets given drugs and becomes Angelus for a little bit and attacks that actress lady. Though that was the only episode I found him scary in.

Yeah.....Thats my new replacement for shit happens "Spuffy Happens'' I really liekd evil spike and I even like chiped Spike but then souled spike reared his ugly head. I already made my dislike for Spuffy era Spike known in the worst vilians thread! Good thing Joss Whedon's the one writing this show, and he prefers fleshed-out characters to 2D villains. James Marsters: [Joss] discovered Spike to be really quite pitiful. He was a drunken, heartbroken sod, really, when we saw him in Season 3, and I was just in one episode that season. It was watching that episode come together and seeing that I was really willing to embrace that side of the character that had Joss get interested in bringing me on as a regular. It was only when Spike became foolish and vulnerable and probably less sexy and less dangerous that Joss actually thought, "Well, hey, this is a person who I can explore humanity with." (And re: souled Spike... I don't see how anyone could like chipped Spike and dislike souled Spike. The Spike of Angel Season 5 was basically the Spike of Buffy Season 4 + moral compass.) Anyway, I voted for Glory. She had the most concentrated power out of all the villains, the best hiding place (Ben), the best arc with the best finale, and some extra layers, when the line between her and Ben began to blur.

Glory is not only best villain of Buffy, but also one of the best female villains ever in my opinion. In comic books, movies and tv series, female villains are often portrayed as femme fatales who try to manipulate male bad guys (like Number Six from BSG) or seduce the heroes (like Poison Ivy from Batman) or just being posessed by a higher being (like Phoenix from X-Men,evil Cordy etc.) Glory has brought something new.Yes she cares about her looks and hair, but she's not necessarily sexy or use her sex appeal to achieve her goals. She can punch and kick. Anyway...Do you guys know Clare Kramer is pregnant? If i'm not wrong, this month we'll have a mini-Glorificus

so many good villains...but the ones that were good AND bad, i don't really consider villains....i don't really have a reasoning as to why..... The Master--boring Spike--good Drusilla--fun to watch, but not very 'bad' Angelus--angel--good Faith--good The Mayor--annoying Adam--overrated Glory--- The Trio--really, were they bad? Jonathon and Andrew- good, really. Warren=bad....and killed tara, but not really evil or anything. Willow (Dark)--good Caleb--i liked caleb...he was fun! The First--not as good as Glory, etc. All talk. I do have to add that I LOVED vamp Xander and Willow, though they weren't really big bads, or in more than 1 (2) eps. They were fantastic, just like the Gentlemen.

Glory seemed to be the most intimidating Big Bad because when you find out she is a god from a hell dimension, you are thinking how in the world is Buffy and the Scoobies going to get out of this one?
Second would have to be the mayor because he was so evil, yet hilarious in his cleanliness and gee whiz type personality.

I voted for Glory. She was interesting and I liked the whole Ben thing. I also really liked the scenes when she was going crazy, I'm not really sure why, but I did.

I know I'm in the minority but really,Glory was weak. Not the character but the actress just had the attitude of a second rate Season 1 Cordelia. I hate sounding mean but her performance really lacked the intensity I think that season needed. If they had perhaps gotten a different actress I might feel differently. Like when she went on that little tantrum at the hospital with Dawn. That whole "I wanna hear me talking..tiny little snap dragon" rant. It seemed so efforted to me. Didn't feel natural. Now the best for me was Season 3 with Faith and the Mayor. They were great villains.Great chemistry and attitude.

I don't rate Glory highly either. Don't dislike her but I prefer most of that list. Glory wasn't intimidating at all. She was strong but incredibly dumb. She only became sort of a threat in my eyes after she brain raped Tara. It was an interesting concept for her though. I actually think Ben was a better villain.

I would easily go with Angelus as the best villian, and SMG agrees with me And I'd say Mayor McSleaze second

Angelus was amazingly awesome, but I think he was better in season 4 of Angel than season 2 of Buffy. The episode with Angel's perfect fantasy to take his soul away was just awesome. That one and "Spin the Bottle" are the best episodes of season 4.
