I'm a huge Angel fan. I like Buffy too. They rank as some of my favourite things in filmed media, but the comics just haven't won me over. I know that it may have been unreasonable, but when I heard of the story continuations in comic form, I kinda expected them not to be so... well, for lack of a better term: Comic-y. They're just so beyond the largely grounded TV shows in terms of plausability; and quite frankly lame. It's great you all are enjoying them, I was just wondering whether anyone else feels the same way as me.
Some of the covers are beautiful though. I was tempted more than once to buy the comic just for those.

They're only 3 bucks, so if you like the art, go for it. I've got a few of the nicer issues hanging on my wall. They're like very small posters that also are comic books. It's great.

Yeah i love the Comics, Which i honestly just started getting into once Joss started writing S8 of Buffy and S6 of Angel. I always was into the btvs/ats related books before hand, but i really appreciate some of the artwork and talent that goes into some of these comics.

Love them! They are great! And they are getting better! The Faith arc is, IMO, much better than the first arc...which I thought was great.
And I'm loving the start of Angel, I can't wait for #2!

i wasn't totally onboard with Angel at first, but I was very distracted when I read it. It seemed corny and strange at first, but in subsequent readings I realized how funny a lot of the dialogue was. The book doesn't take itself completely seriously, which is essentail for something as potentially cheesey as this.

It varies with me. I don't care for the older ones which bored me. I like most of the Angel ones I've read except Old Friends, the Gunn spotlight, and the last half of the Connor spotlight. Loved the others and hope they do more character one shots or minis.

I love the comics! I don't really like "The Chain" so much, but it was still okay. I hated Warren and Amy suddenly turning up, though. The covers are just amazing, I print the covers off and put them on my wall because I'm too cheap to buy them, lol. You know, Warren and Amy get a lot of dissaproval, but I think from a storytelling standpoint they're quite appropriate. Given season eight's focus on "slaver vs. human", what better move could you make than to pit the slayers against the biggest bastitch of a human who ever lived. Plus, Super-Amy and Warren with his anti-magic tech make a very good match for Willow-the-god.

I feel like I needed After the Fall. I never really got a good solid ending from Angel. Buffy Season 8 is great and all but I didn't NEED it. To make a long post short I love the comics! Gives me something to look forward to each month!

I want the Buffy comics to go on forever too Mikey!
I do have a kind of love/hate relationship with them though. It is hard for me to put these comics in the same place in my mind as the show. Plus I find them confusing at times. I find the original Buffy comics easy and fun to read, but these ones have so much importance(CANON) attatched to them that I find it hard to enjoy them. Thats not a critique of the comics but just how they make me feel. I need to chill out and read them all again. I think I'd feel alot better about them.
As for the Angel comics, I'm a procrastinator and haven't read #2 or 3 yet but I loved the first issue. I thought it was better than issue 1 of The Long Way Home.
I'm just happy to have my Buffy and Angel back, in whatever medium that may be.

You really have to pay attention sometimes to know what's going on. I've found that re-reading helps. I like the series more every time I go through it.

Yeah, the first time I read the comics I go though them really fast, then I read it a few more times to understand and pic out different stuff.

I definitely have to reread them. The first time I go through an issue, I'm all about the dialogue and less about the art. That means I end up missing stuff that's important to the story, and I end up getting all confused.

I re-read them a couple times. After a time, I usually go back to them also. So as to remember key points and possible things I missed.

I love the comics! I didn't start reading them, however, until Joss started Season Eight of Buffy. Now I am hooked.

I'm a comic book geek anyhow, so yea I like the comics. I do agree sometimes the comics seem a little too out there sometimes, like you have that feeling "Well if it were an episode that wouldn't happen" but that is why they are in the comics and not the episodes. i love the art on most of them, cover and inside. I'm collecting the issues, so I don't open the bags, but since the Omnibus...es? Omnibi? o.0 Anyways, since those, I can actually read them without opening my collection. I sort of lost the point of what I was saying. Anyhow I really like the comics, if anything for the purpose of having BtVS around all the time. Season 8 is wonderful. I'm glad they have such a versatile medium to continue such a vast story. It couldn't be contained within the confines of a tv show. It needed to continue with more comics.

It was rough the first couple of issues, but I have adapted. New Buffy is never worth complaining about. Although it will never translate as well as the TV medium, Season 8 can shine through excellent writing alone in comparison to some of the weaker TV seasons.
