What's your favorite Buffy Season 3 Episode? Mine's The Prom. I will make a poll for each season. After I let them run for a few weeks. I'll take the top 2 episodes from each season and put them altogether for "The Best Buffy Episode Poll". I"ll do the same as Angel, and within a few months I'll take the top 2 from each season and have "The Best Buffy/Angel Episode Poll". I think it will be cool.

Picked helpless here. Its my favorite one to watch. the scenes with buffy and kralik are awesome. I love how she gets the better of him despite losing her slayers powers. Plus the Buffy/Giles scenes are incredible.

Earshot. It holds a special place in my heart because it was the first episode I saw, but it's also a great episode. So many funny moments, and so many emotional moments too.

Earshot. It holds a special place in my heart because it was the first episode I saw, but it's also a great episode. So many funny moments, and so many emotional moments too. Hey, that was my first episode, too!  In spite of the fact that there's a lot of backstory going on that you can't really follow, with Angel and Faith and all that, I still think it makes a great episode to start with and get hooked by, because it really showcases every aspect of what makes the show great: great drama, hilarious comedy, and good action. That said, I still voted for "Bad Girls".  |

I consider it the only season--of either show--that doesn't have a single "bad" episode all the way thru. "Dead Man's Party" and "Gingerbread" are fairly forgettable, but are hardly out-and-out stinkers. S3 of "Angel" comes very close in terms of overall quality, beginning to end. "Provider" is probably in the bottom ten of "Angel" episodes, but otherwise: fantastic season. Oddly, tho, other than "Waiting in the Wings", it doesn't really have any 'standout' eps--just a long string of 'good' ones... |

Okay, I have to put a disclaimer here that I make a distinction between "My Favorites" and "Best Of" episodes - there's a huge overlap, but they're not necessarily the same. I voted Doppelgängland, because it's my clear favorite, BUT: I think I'd probably rate "Anne" as the best of Season Three, as it pretty much is "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer," boiled down into one episode.

Doppelgangland. Absolutely incredible acting on the part of Alyson Hannigan, who successfully plays four roles, each with subtle differences in performance and perfectly in-character: Willow as Willow, Vamp Willow as Vamp Willow, Willow as Vamp Willow, and Vamp Willow as Willow. Not to mention it is probably the most effective use of supernatural metaphor to address character issues in the entire series (in this case, Willow's self-confidence issues).
