I am not a Spuffy fan but I have to admit her relationship with Spike brought her to dark places worth being explored in the show.

He was there when she needed him. She had gone through a horrible ordeal (Death, Resurrection, Joyce's death and now having to take her place in supporting herself and Dawn). They connected at a certain level which helped Buffy out and for that, I am glad they had their relationship. But I don't think it should go anywhere passed that. I believe she will always have feelings for him but will have moved on with her life. I want to see Buffy and Angel back, since Angel is not a vampire and not cursed anymore.

However I never understood why the gang didn't mind having Spike around for such a long time. I mean, he was soulless until the last season which means he was still evil and aren't evil vampires what they are supposed to fight? I had a feeling the chip story was just an excuse to keep him around. I know it was. But it was not a good excuse in my opinion. He still wanted to harm people, it's just that the chip wouldn't let him.

Technically, the worst was Angel, since it resulted in the deaths of so many people and scarred Buffy for life, but I wouldn't drop it. That, and Parker, and Riley, and Spike, were all huge life lessons for her. I was rewatching Sanctuary today, and Faith was telling Buffy -- "You have no idea what it's like on the other side! Where nothing's in control, nothing makes sense! There is just pain and hate and nothing you do means anything." -- and I felt proud (of the show, of Buffy herself) that she got to experience that in Season 6, and came out the stronger for it. She'd be qualified to tell Faith what Spike told her in Never Leave Me: "I understand you now. I understand the violence inside."
If there was one affair I'd nix, I guess it would be Satsu, since Buffy didn't get anything new from that experience, as far as I can tell. It was like Season 6 Spike/Buffy, but without the amazing payoff -- epic soulquesting, or discovering her "juice and darkness and kinky" (Jane Espenson), or acknowledging her inferiority complex about her superiority complex.

Well it's too early to say whet she's gonna get from her "sexual intercourse" with Satsu. It's been only two issues ago. Who knows?

Well, I still hold hope that she will get something new from that affair, but Joss and Scott's interviews haven't been very encouraging in that respect.
"It's not a huge life change for Buffy. She's not gay. Sexuality is a spectrum. Many of us have experimented in our youth -- that's what youths are for. So we knew it wasn't going to be a giant character shift -- it was just going to be nice fodder for Buffy to be going through something besides feeling lonely and disconnected and having the weight of the world on her shoulders. It was nice for something nice to happen to her, and then for her to get kind of awkward about it." -- Joss Whedon

That in itself could be the importance though. Buffy needs to have sex that is actually just fun. I think it's about time the girl got some without any massive complications personally.

As long as it's treated delicately enough to not give the impression that Buffy is using Satsu, like Parker used her, or like she used Spike. She'd really given me the impression that she'd learned something from Season 6, especially in Conversations with Dead People.

I did Parker. When Buffy slept with Angel, i didnt have a problem with that beacause she didnt know about the curse. Spike, she should not have slept with him because she gave him false hope that they could be together. Riley, was fine too, except the part that he left.

I went with stinky Parker. Fair enough, you can argue that Buffy needs to learn these lessons about guys being jerks, but screw that! Nobody, and I mean nobody, discards Buffy like a used wash-towel! FIEND!

I voted Parker, because he's a turd-rocket. No one should have to learn that guys can be creeps that way. Am I bitter? YES! I don't think her sleeping with Angel was bad in itself. What happened afterwards obviously was, but I'm glad Buffy's first time was with the man she loved. Otherwise it might have been Parker o.0 I also voted Satsu because their hooking up is just another straight-girl-gone-lesbian-for-five-minutes that is all too common in the media now. And even though I know Joss didn't have this intention, it's almost always done for the fanservice of horny boys. I'm so sick of it. And I hate how it's been making so many people say "well, she's young!" as if being yong means you have to experiment, and being old means you can't. Why do you never see a straight-guy-goes-gay-for-five-minutes in the media, hmm? Or heck, even a lesbian-girl-goes-straight-for-five minutes (oh wait, they did that on Nip/Tuck).

Yeah I was going to say Satsu pissed me off becasue it seemed like Buffy was going "I wonder if I'm gay..." ...... "No, I'm not". If it were any random girl I wouldn't care but it was someone who loved her.
Wow. Is this what a brainwave feel like?
You know what I think? I think because of Angelus and Parker and Scott. Buffy was so used to getting hurt that now she doesn't care so much about hurting others. Sexually. She's seemed to apply Faith's "Want, take, have" idea to her sexual life. Sure she later feels bad about using Spike and Satsu and forgeting abuot Riley but she wouldn't change it and she's progressively getting worse. Even after she knew that she wasn't gay she slept with Satsu AGAIN! Why? Because she wants to and Satsu will let her. I love her and all but buffy needs counselling. How is it that when Angelus f**ks people up, they're f**ked up for life. Dru, Spike, Buffy, Holtz...

I voted for Parker and Angel.
Parker, because it was just her silly attempt to move on that back fired, because she wasn't ready and moved too fast.
Angel because, although she couldn't have known what would happen, I think we can all agree things would've turned out better if they didn't have sex. Also, she was underage... So, in a way... Angel could do what Spike couldn't: Rape Buffy... Albeit statutorily, but still.

I picked Riley. I was going to go with Parker and Riley, but I think Buffy grew a little from the Parker incident.
