I, personally was very excited because I thought it was Dru. But then it was Willow and I was disappointed.

Bored now.
I feel like it's been done. Willow can wear the evil boots. We get it. The more she does this, the less believable I'll find her in the hero role. Whatever happened to season 1 Willow? She's a completely different character than the Willow we have now. She's not the Willow that helped me fall in love with the show in the first place. I liked akward Willow, hacker extrodinare... And now everything about her I related to is different. I don't know, my opinion of her as a character just keeps going down.
Meanwhile, the more Xander I see the more I love him. And even though Buffy's made her mistakes, she's always very likable. Even Dracula has improved with time. What is with you, Willow?
I have faith in Joss, and yet Willow hasn't been my favorite character for a while, and she probably won't be again.
I would have liked to have had Drusilla show up. That would have been pretty epicly different from anything that's been done in a while. But I didn't really believe she would. Sigh...

I liked that it was Willow. That gives me the feeling that the story is still Scooby based. Bringing Dru back would be like: " Hey why don't we find every alive Buffy-villain and bring it to season 8". At least Willow is somehow connected to season 8 story-line.

Drusilla died? When did that happen? As far as I know, the last we saw of her was when she was running out of Spike's crypt in "Crush" (S5). Unless by "dead" you're referring to the fact that all vampires are technically dead. And as for not having much power, well, she has the visions, very similar to Doyle's/Cordy's. She has the power of hypnosis that she used to kill a slayer (Kendra) and trick Giles into revealing some very important information, and she was the one behind bringing back the Judge to destroy the world in S2, and right there with Angelus with the whole Acathla thing. Plus, any vampire that spends years running with Angelus, Darla, and Spike seems like they're probably more powerful than the average vamp. I had no problem at all believing the idea that she was badass enough to be Harth's partner-in-evil...

Yeah I have never understood the whole "Drusilla isn't powerful" angle. She's the only surviving member of the original Fang Gang. Technically Spike and Angel are alive, but they have both died (and aren't even evil anymore), and Darla has died twice. She can hold her own against every opponent we've seen her face, and even killed Kendra without much trouble. Drusilla is still very much a force to be reckoned with (and why I wanted her to return in this arc).

Drusilla is still very much a force to be reckoned with (and why I wanted her to return in this arc). You and me, both. This is two arcs in a row now where I was expecting to see her, and then was disappointed (I thought she'd be the "fan-favorite villain" that Scott Allie mentioned would be returning in WatG). I also don't get the sentiment that it doesn't make sense to bring her back to "Buffy" because she has no personal significance or connection to Buffy. Well, did the Master? Or the Mayor? Adam? Glory? Caleb or the First? Or even Dru and Spike themselves when they first arrived in Sunnydale? How about bringing her back just because she's an awesome character and is one of the few truly evil ones on either show who's still out there to be brought back (since she's never actually been killed off)?

I'd love to see her brought back in a similar fashion to how she arrived on Angel. She showed up to just royally screw up everything, cause chaos, and raise hell, which she effectively did. She resurrected Darla, killed a number of WR&H employees and helped send Angel over into the deep end. I think her return to Buffy S8 could be as equally destructive, and would just be a lot of fun to see.

Glad it was Willow. Dru pf she had no reason to be the new villain really. Plus to have her be the longest living Vampire left would just be too funny. She could hardly look after her self in the show.
We have only had evil Willow once. I think it would be silly to think that she wouldn't have turned at least one more time. She was addicted to magic its like drugs she must have had a slip up. Plus it Joss so like it wont be epic.

Evil Willow is just too much for me. This kind of makes me want to stop reading. IMO the only good arcs were NNFY and WATG. I'm really dissapointed. Evil Willow is just so cheesy with her dark clothes and cheesy quips. UGH. Of all recycled characters, I would have thought Joss would have picked somebody more....good?

I think the reason their saving Dru is because if they do bring her back then she would have to die, as I dont see Joss letting her live again. It would be great if they do a spin off just for Dru like their doing with Spike
And as for Willow, Im enjoying it, she may not even have the same mind as S6 evil willow, shes obviously stayed all this time for a purpose which will only be revealed with time, I dont think its recycling characters, just inventing new ideas to be played out.

Willow is a big huge part of this storyline the end of magic. She is magic. How can we not think she could have gone evil if everyone was trying to end who she was?

I doubt that a powerful witch who has lived for at least 2 centuries is anything like her arrogant and selfishly angst-ridden Season 6 counterpart. This seems like it'll be an all new side of Willow. What exactly does she want with Buffy? If it's Buffy's coming to the future that causes the future to happen, then what exactly is Future Willow trying to accomplish?
The "So did I....which means...this is my fault" line is quite foreboding. Present Willow is definitely going down a really obscure road.
I also wanted Drusilla back, but it didn't seem plausible to me considering Joss comments about gunning for where the most pain and drama is. Drusilla just doesn't fit in that well with the current storyline.

It was willow who started the slayer line again then?
I personally dont think it is evil Willow, but Willow with a whole new personaility, one who we dont even know is evil yet, she could be using Harth for something ?

Maybe with the end of magick, Willow didn't entirely like this idea...Because after she went all evil she was infused with everything. She was able to feel everything. She basically is the magick...and by getting rid of magick...that would technically mean that they were getting rid of her...and maybe she didn't like that idea very much so she stayed around for two centuries to exact her revenge....
Dunno...just a thought.

The main reason i was dissapointed was because issue 19 cover had already been released. If i hadn't seen that, i would have read it convinced it was Dru. The future covers ruin it for me. I may have to stop looking when we get them.

I'm not going to stop reading or anything, but I'm getting a little frustrated by the "reuse" of old and (for me) gladly forgotten villains like Warren, Amy, and Dark Willow. I know what Joss & the gang are trying to do is to shed new light on them, but it just feels like recycling stuff that was never really very good to start with. I love the comics so far, but I just keep hoping for some more NEW characters and ideas. I loved Decoy Buffy from The Chain, Genevieve and Roden from NFFY, and the evil Tokyo vamps/witch from WATG. They were great villains and characters! I just wish some of the "big bads" would be fresher.

Or did, when I heard about Dark Willow's return... until I actually read the issue. Now, she just feels 'different' somehow than she did in S6, so whatever's going on with her, I'm gonna roll with it, and see where it goes, and trust Joss knows what he's doing. Still would rather it have been Dru...
