I took some of the options from JumpTheShark.com.
But, "Jumping The Shark" is when a series gets to a point where it is bad, and there is no going back.
Which do you think?

I don't think the Buffy show never got bad. At all. So don't shoot me guys. *applies shield*. But I think Buffy went downhill after season 5 when they switched networks. Idk if that's the reason. But it just did. They were still good though. Maybe season 5 was just so superb that there was no way on earth they could top that

I had to go with the network switch as well.(I don't consider season 6 bad.Season 7,however,is a different story)
To me,the last two seasons felt less like a continuation of the series, but more of a spin-off of the original series(seasons 1-5 were about Buffy dealing with the reality of the slayer life, seasons 6&7 were about the slayer dealing with the reality of Buffy's life)

I love all the seasons of buffy but it did lose some quality after the Network Switch. (IMO)

It never jumped, but I doubt they could ever top season 5. It had the right mix of drama, grief, romance, heartbreak, magic and horror. So naturally, it went "downhill" after that.

Never jumped. It would have if it had gone on any longer, though; Season 7 was pushing it as it was. (Speaking of, I do find Season 8 shark-jumpy in some aspects.)
ETA: Hadn't noticed "Comics" was an option. Voting for that, then.

I voted when Joss decides no one can be a happy couple. It'd be nice if at least 2 of the characters could get together and actually stick it out; not everybody breaks up badly.
I don't think the network switch was bad, for one we wouldn't have seen Willow and Tara together as they were i.e. kissing, love making until they went to UPN. WB wasn't as lenient. So I'm glad they let us see them together properly. xxx

I voted "Never Jumped."
Although the show came close when Spike became such a huge focus in Seasons 6 and 7.

Mandatory JM quote...
James Marsters: I usually got about 3 pages of script. Scripts average 43-48 pages and I averaged between 1 and 3 pages an episode. So, I didn't "take oxygen" away from anybody! (Tampa, 7-03)
Just this month, he also said that he got more lines on Angel -- something about not being able to have a "card sheet" with a verb for Spike.

Never jumped, but I do have problems with Spuffy in season 6.

I have to say I never thought of it that way. I don't think that Buffy ever jumped the shark though. It remained good through out, imo.

I voted never. Like any show or continuing story Buffy has had it's ups and a downs, but the show was never horrible for me and I never once thought about not watching. Even the comics have had some effy moments but here I am still buying the issues each month. Not because it's habit, but because there is always something enjoyable to read.

Yeah, the network switch did create a different "feel" of the show. But for those who like to complain (although I don't see any on here), I just say "Bad Buffy is better than no Buffy!"

the fact that the show went on for 7 years and not one couple stood when the smoke cleared (other than Winnedy which isn't a real couple cuz kennedy is so annoying) is just rediculous... i think Marti or Jane Espenson said:
You Know when two people are happy together, someone always leaves, turns evil, or dies... ALWAYS

I don't wanna say it jumped the shark after season 5 because there are so many great things about seasons 6 and 7, but we all have to acknowledge that Spuffy was annoying sometimes (besides all the sex that was actually pretty entertaining). I Think Spike became the most annoying and useless throughout Season 7. They just wouldn't kill him off because... they couldn't I guess. The fanbase is to be blamed.

I'm not sure if it's really shark jumping, but season 7 was too bad to be true and the rule that there can't be happy couples is just unrealistic. I was so incredible happy when ATF had a 'happy ending' because like Angel already said, he never had one before. Drama is overrated.
Also Willow's magic is possibly a shark jump candidate. Fights and life are too easy with so much magic.

Sorry, I just reeeally wanted to post that. Anyway, I was tempted to vote for "Joss decides that there are never happy couples," but, since that happened around the beginning of the second season, I voted "never." Still, if I absolutely had to pick a jump the shark moment for Buffy, I guess it'd be when the Potentials came in.
