Got Volume 1 yesterday and just finished it. I was expecting something very different, something that takes place in the future and nothing superhero-y. The premise is pretty damn amazing, but the first couple issues had me scratching my head, didn't really like the way they flowed. But with each issue, everything (story and character), just kept getting better and better, it became something very special.
I loved most of the characters, my favorite was probably Chase, followed by Gert, Karolina and Molly. Karolina reminded me of Buffy. Nico had her ups and downs, but I hated Alex. Every word that come out of his mouth, I just wanted to punch him. Some pretty cool twists and turns in the story too. And Old Lace FTW, I want her. Loved, loved, loved the last couple issues, those were epic. Need to buy Volume 2 ASAP.

I just finished reading Volumes 1&2 not that long ago. I also read Dead End Kids for a workshop I was taking since it was on ALA's Great Graphic Novels for Teens. I've been trying without sucess for a month now to order Volume 3 from my library; that is until today when I was finally able to yay!

Looks like there is a new writer starting with today's new issue. Her name is Kathryn Immonen; her husband, Stuart, is an artist that works on Ultimate Spider-Man among other titles. She's has only written a few titles, so I don't know what to expect. I hope she is good and I will give her a shot, but I am disappointed that Marvel passed on this great title to an virtual unknown. Preview here: www.comixology.com/previews/APR090520/Runaways-3-11

I didn't read the preview since I still have to read issues #7-10 of Season 3 (Rock Zombies I think), but I like the new artist. Definite improvement over the last one. Nico looks kinda weird, but other than that I like the clean/detailed look that this artist is going for.

The New X-Men cameoed in the latest Runaways. If that's not incentive to get back into this series, I don't know what is! ;D
If Kathryn Immonen's writing is half as sexy as her husband's art, the book's in good hands. Stuart Immonen should be drawing every Marvel title. And when I get my cloning machine up and running, he will be!

i actually read that spoiler a few weeks ago, and when reading the issue i didn't see it on the cover and completely forgot about it i'd rather Chase stay alive than Gert
but yeah, feels like the old Runaways a bit more, except for the art

I recently got the Rock Zombies (#7-10) premiere HC and it was...okay. I am glad that Terry Moore didn't stick around long, as his characterizations (namely Molly and Chase) were never that great. I didn't mind the artist, but certainly not as good as past work on the series. I am excited about the new writer and artist though, but since I am just buying the HC's that come out, it will be a bit before I read anymore.

After Joss' comics, have the newer comics been collected in a hardcover or TPB yet?

I have Premiere Edition Hardcovers of all 3 post-Joss arcs (Vol. 3 #1-6: Dead Wrong, #7-10: Rock Zombies and #11-14: Homeschooling). Not sure if they were collected in regular TPB's.

I've been collecting the TPB for years, but veeeery slowly (I'm very poor. Poorer than most people can fathom >.<). I'm only up to 6 right now. How many are there supposed to be in all?

Anyone who wants to fill me in on the hardcovers for these? I have the three oversized hardcovers (vol1 issue 1-18, vol 2 issue 1-12+one-shot, vol 3 13-24) and Daed End Kids hardcover. What's next? How many more issues are there and how are they divided?
Should I buy vol. 9: Dead Wrong HC vol. 10: Rock Zombies HC vol. 11: Homeschooling Civil War: Young Avengers/Runaways TPB Secret Invasion: Runaways/Young Avengers TPB in that order? Is it chronological?
