I actually think it would be a good move for SMG to appear on Dollhouse. It could, not only, give Sarah another thing to add to her resume, but at the same time it could give Dollhouse a boost in the ratings. Her appearance would bring in the SMG fans, along with whatever Buffy fans didn't migrate over since Day 1 of Dollhouse, AND it would show just how amazing Dollhouse is. Obviously, SMG wouldn't be a part of something if she didn't think it was good.

Not sure why someone hasn't said this before, but I think it's important to say that in the event that we don't get a SMG guest star appearance on Dollhouse, it would have nothing to do with her opinions of the show's merit or her personal character (someone called her a bitch if she didn't earlier??).
She's producing and starring in a new show, in addition to her new pregnancy. I'm sure she's got her time filled at this point.

Having Eliza in a new show + having a guest star from a Buffy related subject already, adding a new guest would sorta make it not-so-much a ELIZA only show, w/o Buffy characters. it would be awesome to see Sarah in another show, I've only seen her in Buffy for TV shows.

I don't want to see her guest star either. Don't kill me, but I don't think she deserves to work with Joss again. I love SMG as much as anyone else, but she was way too ungrateful when it came to Buffy (and let's face it, without Buffy she wouldn't be anywhere near as famous as she is). She was rarely seen in any of the special features on the DVD's, which is weird since she was the star of the show. It still pisses me off that towards the end of the show she just didn't really seem to care about it at all. She didn't even stay for the wrap party. As soon as filming was done she left to film Scooby-Doo 2. It was cool to see her at the Paley Fest. It seems she's getting along a little better with the Buffy people.
It would also take away from Dollhouse to have her in it. Midnight Butterfly hit the nail on the head.

She actually appeared on none of the special features exept one (and that wasnt even a proper feature, it was a TV documentary) and even in that she was there for two seconds. She was rarely ever seen with the Buffy cast during their outings either I believe. That always annoyed me.

She was rarely ever seen with the Buffy cast during their outings either I believe. That always annoyed me. I really disagree with this treatment of SMG. The reason she wasn't on the DVD's was that she never had much free time to do it. As the lead actress in the show who was in almost every scene, she was on the set working 20 hour days and leading the cast in effect also. Add on to this that she was also busy with other projects outside of the show and she just didn't have time. Similarly David Boreanaz was rarely on the commentaries for Angel (he did the one that he actually directed which shows more a directorial interest than an actor's one). David Boreanaz did only one single audio commentary and this was during a time when he had limited scenes to shoot because of his knee injury. Sarah Michelle Gellar had an incredible load of screen time already. She devoted 20 hour work days to Buffy - you expect her to give more because those 20 hours she put her heart and soul into her acting weren't enough? Again, compare her to the lead of ANGEL. At least Sarah showed for the Paley Fest Reunion of Buffy in 2008 and she's always had good things to say about the show. She's just a professional person who's very protective of her free time and why shouldn't she be? She hardly had any free time during the run of BUFFY. As for her leaving during the wrap party, that timeline posted above is a bit off. She didn't leave to go start Scooby Doo. She'd been doing double duty the entire season. That's why SMG is losing her voice during Empty Places - she'd been flying back and forth from LA to Australia. She had to leave to back to Australia for a work commitment. SMG grew up in the acting environment and learned how important it was to separate her private life from her work life because let's face it - Hollywood and the acting world is full of phony and opportunistic people. Perhaps she's taken it a bit to the extreme, but she's always been intensely professional and interested in just being a person who works hard rather than a huge star. I appreciate that. I wish she had been on the commentaries but I understand why she wasn't and respect it.

I've soo many fans blaming SMG for the end of Buffy and saying she is ungrateful for being in Buffy. It makes me sad they think that she isn't grateful every interview i have seen with her she has looked upon Buffy with happy times i mean what dot hey want for her to have no life? And when they blame her for the end of Buffy, is it really fair? She had been doing it for 7 years is it wrong that she would want to stop and do other things? No. I don't think i would want her on DH i think she's working too hard to build her self up from just that girl who played Buffy to get put back into that slot.

I wasn't blaming her for Buffy ending. I know she had nothing to do with that. I just remember towards the end there was a lot of drama surrounding her. I was really disappointed, because as the show was coming to it's end a bunch of reports started coming in about how hard she was to work with. I don't think this needs to become an argument. I was just expressing my opinion about why I don't think she should guest star.

It's just something that other fans often do - demonize SMG for Buffy. Like when she wasn't able to guest star on ANGEL Season 5 because of a death in the family. When she was able to guest star, she offered to do so for Joss but by then it would have been during the Season finale and Joss didn't want to take attention away from the ANGEL regulars by having the titular star of the Buffyverse appear. I just think it's too easy to criticize her for her decision to have Season 7 be the last season for her when it clearly coincided with Whedon's own wishes at the time too.
Regarding the commentaries and fan interaction, David Boreanaz has the same amount of limited involvement but he never gets treated this way. Why is it only SMG who gets this flak? You know that James Marsters was only ever on one commentary? And that was with the limited amount of screen time he had devoted to him. 10 pages of script on average compared to more than half of the episode that had SMG in it.

Apparently, when there's a room full of egos, everyone has to be at everyone's throat. It's especially true whenever it comes to films with several female stars. Tabloids love to make women look like nothing more than warring drama queens. I say, take it all with a grain of salt. Or a bag. SMG has never come off as anything but professional in official reports, so as far as I'm concerned, the rumor mill can choke on its own bile.

Well, seriously, I understand that. But, SMG ended Buffy because the show was at the highest rating/views, etc. She wanted it to go out at the best moment.
