Can someone please explain to me how Inara has so many votes against Buffy of all people? I'm not taking a stand against this or anything at the moment, I'm just curious if someone has a theory. It's confusing me.

Maybe they assumed Inara would lose because she's up against Buffy, and they sympathy-voted. Or maybe they voted on Inara because she's hoter.

I can kinda see how some people can be blind sided by her beauty but this is a favorite/best character tourney. I mean, not to say that Buffy should win automatically. I don't even think that....but I'm wondering is this like a hard-core Browncoat thing? Or do people love Inara more than I thought? I find it interesting that it's even a remote possibility that she could beat Buffy when Kendra didn't hold a candle to her in Round 1 (although it was surprising that she got 2 votes at all!)

I think a lot of people thought that Buffy would win and voted for Inara, not just out of pity, but to show that she was an awesome character. I thought Inara was a great character, and no she wasn't a title character who lead Firefly for seven seasons, but she is deserving of support. Thats all it is. People showing the love.

Anyways, I love this March Madness thing! It's better for me than real March Madness, especially since Uni of Pittsburgh is in the real one and harbour a huge rivalry with them, from my school. Anyways, back to the B-verse... I enjoy it a lot. Great idea, I must say!

Holy Shnikies! Bitsy is sooooo pissed due to believing the tourney has been fixed! It is a bit shady that Giles beat Angel but I'm just going ahead with hoping there isn't cheating. Power to the people and all that. Still, perhaps I should've made it "register only" because there are more votes than ever and there all anonymous and Buffy is losing to Giles now. I never expected that, that's for sure. Strange, no?
Actually, scratch that...I just checked the analytics and it shows multiple clicks from the same viewers so there is definitely cheating. It's quite a bit too, dozens in fact! That's so sad, this hasn't happened until now.

Tee is right and I cannot deny it: I am on a tear right now about the cheating that is taking place in our tourney. I cannot tell you how disrespected I feel by the people who have turned up in the last two rounds who have so obviously been going out of their way to guarantee that Spike wins this thing. I mean he had a good chance of winning anyway and, had it been him coming out on top fair and square I would have felt fine about it. But him taking it by a landslide is thoroughly dishonest and has kind of ruined the tourney for me. Yeah, it just started happening too! Well, this fandom is wacky what can I say? I think it might be people double voting for Giles, actually....but that's pure speculation. I think it would be interesting if Giles took the whole thing (for the record, he took the whole thing in one of our private tourneys once.) But he has no chance against Spike, so there's that. Strange times.

Personally, I voted for Giles, but I definitely am surprised that he is beating Buffy. I actually expected the final four to be Buffy, Angel, Spike and Faith, with Wesley, Anya and Illyria as possible substitutes in there, so I was very surprised to see Willow and Giles make it to this stage.
Buffy could still win though, last I checked it was very close.

Yeah, I thought the final 4 would be Buffy vs. Angel with Spike vs. someone on the other side...with Spike and Buffy winning that, of course. So if Buffy wins here it doesn't matter. It'll be the same result for the final championship anyway (Spike vs. Buffy).
*But* if Giles really beats Buffy, I think we can officially classify that as an upset, no?

it really has gone the way of evil, hasn't it? There have been a lot of really tough choices along the way. I wonder if an episode Tourney would've been any easier?
BTW, Buffy is literally getting crushed by Spike right now.
