Yeah, the strong picking on the weak was a theme expressed in the episode but so was the animalistic sides of men, which was recalled later on in the series. I think it's more obvious in Beauty and the Beasts which borders on the misandrist

Xander play a great part in the episode. Good metaphor for bullies. I like this episode alot better then other people I think.

Xander play a great part in the episode. Good metaphor for bullies. I like this episode alot better then other people I think. You betcha! This episode really is enjoyable. It's got great scenes. Technically it might not have been the finest hour of BTVS but it showed the HUGE potential of the show. God, I miss it.

When principal Flutie was killed, I knew that Buffy was different - that it would not be a series celebrating happy endings. For me this was a total "whow"-moment. Radicalizations followed with Angel becoming Angelus and, of course, the gruesome death of Jenny Calender in Passion.
