In an interview w/ Nancy at groups.yahoo.com/groups/btvs-angel-authors , she said: COS was originally planned as a Stake Your Destiny novel. My editor suggested writing it as a linear novel so I did that instead. But coming after QUEEN, I hope it pleases the fans. So would it have been better as a SYD?

No no no. This is one of my favorite Buffy books and probably one of Nancy Holder's best, and not being a fan of the Stake Your Destiny series, I like Carnival of Souls as is.

I've never heard of the Stake Your Destiny series. Is it like the Choose Your Own Adventure series I used to read as a kid? Those were cool. Were the Buffy ones any good?
I almost bought Carnival of Souls at the bookstore this weekend. It sounds like it might be worth reading. The last time I read a Buffy novel was in like 1998 though. Haha.

SYD is exactly like the choose your own adventure . They weren't as good as CYA, so don't waste any money unless you are buying Night Terrors
