The new Buffy book, The Deathless, comes out Tuesday! I got mine from Amazon yesterday and read in one sitting. I will avoid spoilers since it hasn't come out. This is probably one of the best Buffy books in a long while. I wanted this book to last since a new one doesn't come out till August, but I couldn't stop reading it. I felt like I was watching a 'lost' season 3 episode, right between The Zeppo and Bad Girls. KRAD got the feeling and the characters of the show down. I was even laughing, which I find weird when I read a book. It's not that long, only 209 pages, and there is a lot of Faith goodness.

Pre-ordered mine from B&N yesterday. The person helping me is a big fan of the Buffy comics. Have you read Portal Through Time, and, if so, which one was more of a pull-in for you? I dove in to PTT, and couldn't get out of it for 2 days. But now I'm overloaded with school and stuck in limbo

Pre-ordered mine from B&N yesterday. The person helping me is a big fan of the Buffy comics. Have you read Portal Through Time, and, if so, which one was more of a pull-in for you? I dove in to PTT, and couldn't get out of it for 2 days. But now I'm overloaded with school and stuck in limbo I did read PTT, I loved it at first but I sort of lost interest near the end, but I did still really enjoy. I did like The Deathless more. The thing that I liked more about it, is that it wasn't SO over the top, it felt like just another episode, only in novel form. Stakey, here is the description of the back, if you want to know more, just let me know: As if Ring Day weren't enough to make Buffy Summers anxious (she can't even afford one of the less expensive silver bands), the Slayer has her hands full trying to figure out why an average split-level house in Sunnydale has all the vampires spooked. When she arrives at the library to discuss this new development with Giles, a package he's received from an old folklorist in Russia reveals what's going on: The stars are properly aligned for an attempt to resurrect Koschei the Deathless, a long-dead evil sorcerer. So while her classmates are busy choosing rings to demonstrate their school spirit, Buffy must figure out how to keep someone from reviving Koschei and, should she need to resort to plan B, how to kill him again.
A little investigating soon leads Buffy and the gang to the necromancer who originally killed the sorcerer, an immortal Russian sorceress named Yulia Dryanushkina, who can control vampires (which explains their reluctance to pass by her place of residence). When the crew pays Yulia a visit, she assures them that with Willow's assistance, she would be able to kill the sorcerer again should he be revived.
Neither Buffy nor Willow are particularly comfortable with aligning themselves with the necromancer, but they have no other choice when, twenty-four hours later, the vampires start behaving strangely . . . and half the senior class goes missing.

I've never read a Buffy book, but the good reviews makes me want to read this one. I love the idea of a "lost episode." I'll have to check it out. I do find it hard to believe that a high school Buffy wouldn't be able to afford a class ring, since she was always wearing expensive leather clothes and the like.

I bought this one, but haven't read it yet. I'm going to read it after I finish Apocalypse Memories.

Got it a few hours ago, but I only read 20 pages before starting homework. Good so far!

I had the choice between this and portal through time so I bought PTT but then just came home and found out theres a bookclub about deathless so I wish I bought deathless now! lol.
Iv only read the first two chps of portal through time though but it is really good. The first chapter was really shocking and effective.
