Each Friday I shall provide you with a piece of dialogue taken from a Buffy The Vampire Slayer episode.
Then we can all put forward our theories and ideas on why what was said was, and what the people around at the time were thinking. This is something we will never know, so it will be interesting to see what people come up with.
The first piece of dialogue is from Willow, taken from the Season 6 episode - 'Flooded'
"You're right. The magics I used are very powerful. I'm very powerful. And maybe it's not such a good idea for you to piss me off."
What do you think Willow was thinking when she said that to Giles? More importantly, what do you think Giles was thinking. He looked down to the ground, raised his eyebrows and kind of shook his head. So, what do you think was going on in his, and Willow's minds at the time that the above was said?

"You're right. The magics I used are very powerful. I'm very powerful. And maybe it's not such a good idea for you to piss me off." Great quote to start with :-) I think there was more than one thing going on with Willow here. In the first instance, Willow was simply being defensive. If I remember rightly Giles had just called her a rank amateur. Also, her ego was bruised, she wanted to be congratulated by Giles for bringing Buffy back, not chastised - as a father figure and powerful magician in his own right, she wanted Giles' approval and praise. Giles has hit a nerve, big time because I think deep down Willow knows that bringing Buffy back was wrong. On another level, here we see the first dark rumbling of the evil Willow to come. By bringing Buffy back from the dead she has touched on something very dark and she'll never be the same again. And I think Giles knows this. I could say more, but don't want to go on too much and want to know what others think.....

Agreeing with Airgirl, hugely and angrily made defensive statement by Willow, but we're also dealing with Willow's HS images of herself, IOW, nerdy wallflower, and not being taken seriously for who she is herself (being B's sidekick). Remember, too, the dialogue starts with Gilesl saying "You're a very stupid girl". Unlike alot of people I don't necessarily see this dialogue as having much do to with Darth Rosenberg, unless it's the general connection with Dark Magic and Willow's issues with using her powers. Does this make any sense?
