This was fantastic. Best book of July after Angel #23. I really, really enjoyed how it was so Illyria-centric but still had the very specific style and mood of Peter David's FALLEN ANGEL. I just loved it. Review is up: buffyversecomics.blogspot.com/2009/07/illyria-crosses-over-into-peter-davids.html

*puts on list of things to do!*
So only good reviews so far? Do you have to be a Fallen Angel fan to enjoy it? I have yet to read any of them, and cos of this thread I think I should before I get to this issue.

Nope, you don't. You see the Fallen Angel world through Illyria's eyes, and she's new to it also. You'll be fine, for sure.

I've never read a Fallen Angel comic before this and I quite enjoyed it.

I've been looking forward to this but my comic shop messed up the order form meaning i've still gotta wait. Not impressed. Glad it seems to be getting a good response though, and double glad you're saying it's pretty accessible, though i normally do okay at picking stuff up halfway through anyway

Here's some info on issue #4 (from tfaw.com), due in October: Did you ever get everything you've ever wanted? Well, so has Illyria. On the devastated remains of New York City, Illyria stands triumphant. But what of the Fallen Angel? Did she try to stop Illyria...or did she wind up aiding her? And who will wind up having the final victory? This is the Johnny Atomic variant cover, and there should also be a regular cover from JK Woodward.

Issue one was wonderful! I love how it focused on pure Illyria the whole time! Really great!

So two day ago, I went to my comic shop. Without thinking I bought two copies of issue two. Gah. So far, I'm really enjoying it. You would think that a revived old one would be stronger than a fallen angel. Hold on. Has most of her powers been diminished yet? What I want to know is how Illyria's two scythes and helmet were turned into a smaller scale compared to what they were when Illyira was in her prime. They had to have shrunk, right? Primordial Illyria's teeth were more massive than those tiny toothpicks for crying out loud! I love the art, it matches the tone very well. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Illyria in another Fallen Angel. Peter David is handling her perfectly.
