Written by Christopher Golden, Daniel Brereton, Andi Watson and Doug Petrie, art by Watson, Cliff Richards, Joe Bennett, Ryan Sook, Rick Ketcham and others.
The Buffy Omnibus series continues with Volume Six -- delving further into Season Four of the acclaimed television series, and launching readers into the heart of Season Five.
Buffy and Angel, who's now a resident of Los Angeles, must reunite to fight new foes, but Buffy's current flame, Riley Finn, isn't too keen on the former lovers reuniting under any circumstances.
Meanwhile, things begin to heat up between Willow and Tara.
368 pages, $24.95, in stores on Feb. 11.

Oh, I like this cover more. Did anyone think; "Huh. Buffy lived in Los Angeles before and Angel was "born" in a cementary. They're standing in each others spots." I just came to think of how weird it is that a bouncy girly cheerleader is stuck in a graveyard while the tall, dark and brooding vampire is in the bright and shiny Los Angeles. I mean it works for the shows, but still. It's... poetic? Ironic?

I love the new cover. As for Buffy in a cometary and Angel in L.A., well those are their respective "domains" aren't they? Most of Buffy's patrols were in cemeteries, whereas Angel's were in L.A. I don't really see anything ironic about the cover.
Also, if someone could clarify for me. Are there stories in this collection that take place in L.A., or from Angel's point-of-view? Seems odd that he would be on the cover, since he was off the show when this Omnibus supposedly takes place (during S4 and early S5).
EDIT- Nevermind, I reread the description and it looks like Angel makes an appearance or two to help Buffy.

Great cover! I'm wondering how the "Past Lives" story will be included. It was a Buffy/Angel crossover, two Buffy issues and two Angel issues. Will they include the two Angel issues? Can Dark Horse even do that now that IDW has the rights? It'd be annoying to only have half the story.

Actually, looking at those covers drove home to me the irony of Buffy and Angel's respective situations. The last place Buffy wants to be is in a cemetery - she'd rather be in LA, I think, her hometown. Angel would rather be hiding in the shadows, but he's in the city of bright neon lights and Hollywood flash. It's that funny flip we've come to expect. I'd just never thought about it before until I saw this cover.
Based on their personalities, wouldn't you think that Buffy belongs in LA and Angel belongs in a small town cemetery?

That's a good point- in some ways, Buffy and Angel are always being shoved out of their comfort zones (of course, since Angel's comfort zone is suffering in the shadows while he endlessly beats himself up,I'm not really sure comfort zone is the right word for it ). Best wishes, Scott

Awesome cover that, very nice.
In reply to hitnrun017 Scott Allie said this will have all 4 parts (2 Buffys and 2 Angels) to the Past Lives storyline. Angel may be in the hands of IDW "now", but Dark Horse can still print their old stories of course. He also said there were no plans for an omnibus of the Angel comcis Dark Horse did- d'oh!

Maybe IDW will get the rights to them someday?
Best wishes,

Could someone please tell me what the Omnibus volumes are? I see them everywhere but I don't know what they are. Well, yeah, duh, they are a book but what are they about? Could someone please tell me? I really want them.

Could someone please tell me? I really want them. If you read that descriptions on Dark Horse it's pretty clear. During the show Dark Horse (IDW for Angel) gave out 63 issues in a Buffy series, and other stand alone arcand issues about Jonathan, Giles etcetc. These Omnibuses collects those issues, hopefully in chronological order.

So far, the omnibus covers have been amazing. This one is no exception. Volume 4 however, was horrible in comparison. I'm sure it was a different artist. Which is unfortunate. The background in this cover is beautifully done, it really captured the aesthetics of both series for me. Especially Buffy's side, it made me nostalgic for Sunnydale. To be honset, that's the one thing that I'm really missing from the Season Eight comics, Sunnydale. I miss the Californian coastal scenery and graveyard scenes, it had a certain beauty, the big trees, the bright moon, the old gothic style headstones. This cover art captured that perfect.
And Emmie you're so right with the juxtapositioning of Angel and Buffy in their respective locations. Another great detail to this cover.
