(NOTE-I havent read this) I'm just guessing here, as I haven't read any of Dark Horse's Angel comics, but I think the general consensus is that any of the original Dark Horse comics from either series (besides the story in Origin) are not canonical. Joss probably helped develop the story idea for the mini-series, but probably handed over the actual writing to Brett Matthews. I am just assuming that is what happened though.

That's what I had originally assumed too, Wyn. Then Scott Allie quickly stepped in and corrected me. Joss and Brett wrote the story AND scripts together.
I consider the story canonical. In the end, it sort of sets up something that never happened, but still. Joss wrote it. It's Angel. It goes on the canon shelf.

It is a strange read. I was not a fan of the mini series and don’t see how it fits in the cannon universe but it seems like it has to be cannon unfortunately it just adds nothing to the Angel storyline

As long as it doesn't contradict anything in the Angel verse (the show and after the fall, maybe aftermath too) enjoy the story without worrying about the canon issue.
Of course, I can't remember the story. Maybe a character did something significant (revealed that they are a democrat, racist, dying, etcetc) and in that case, the canon should be discussed, but if nothing major happened it doesn't really matter to me.

That's good then, I also read that The story is framed not as actual events but how Buffy remembers them because she is telling Willow and Xander the story of how she found out she was a Slayer... But about 'Long Night's Journey' I think I might have some of them, I am not sure, I have lots of Buffy/Angel comics... :buffyslay:

The look of the vampires in The Origin is WAY off too. They look more like werewolves/demon thingies
So what Wyndam said, story yes, on page not so much

I just got Angel:LNJ TPB for $3 and it was awesome, its not entirely canon in the soul department, but cool none the less, the snake/"Silthe" woman/demon was really cool and i hope she go's to the new Angel series at some point, and was it just me or did Joss use some early drafts of Saga Vasuki and Caleb in this comic?
