Holy flurking shiznit I'm psychyed.
I saw an ad on tv yesterday with all new footage, so I'm a little annoyed that I'm expecting some stuff, but I haven't been this excited for a show in a long time.

I haven't seen any promos and I am glad. I usually don't mind spoilers, but when it comes to Lost they usually just make things more confusing.
I don't think I have ever been so happy about a show ending. I just want to know what's going to happen.

I've done a complete internet black out in terms of Lost, so I'm not spoiled by anything. I haven't been this excited for a TV show premiere since...well the Season 5 premiere lol.

Last season time-travel, this season alternate-realities. They're sure hitting all the sci-fi staples, huh? Too bad there's no S7--I wonder if we would've gotten aliens, or killer robots? I didn't see any shrimp anywhere on the plane or at the airport, did you? I wonder if they're in the world without shrimp? It was a really good ep, tho. And hooray for John Hawkes! I love seeing all the old "Deadwood" peeps showing up. Now if they can just get Garret Dillahunt or W. Earl Brown...

Brilliant episode all around. I actually think the Alternate Timeline is actually a Flash-Forward, or really, a Flash-Forward-Back, since it takes place in the past but may actually be the future for our Losties. They'll sink the Island and reset time, cue the curtains. The Alt Timeline has to be leading somewhere, so that's my best guess.
Also, who thinks Sayid is Jacob now?
ALSO, since the season has started, there's no need to use spoiler code for the first episode. Any spoilers relating to future episodes, PLEASE post in spoiler code. I'll udate the title after each episode airs so those that don't want to be spoiled will know not to enter the thread until they have seen the latest episode.

Outstanding episode. I was angry when Sayid died and happy when he rose again.
So we finally get to see the Temple. That makes me the happiest out of anything we saw today, aside from the final Jack/John scene in the alternate timeline.
Richard in chains... what's that mean? My mind jumped first to Prometheus from Greek mythology?

When they were talking about Richard being in chains I automatically thought that maybe he had escaped at one time. The only reason that I think that is because when Ben first met him as a child he was really scruffy looking, I could be wrong though.
I'm with you Wyndam I think it's a great possibility that Sayid is Jacob and maybe that's why "they" are coming.

I think "Richard in chains" could mean, that he was on the Black Rock. It was a slave ship. I have this theory for a while that the Others were on the Black Rock and as Jacob states in "The Incident" he gets them to the Island. Maybe to have a cult following him or the Others protecting him from the Man in Black.
For the alternative timeline I hope it pays off somehow because right now it just bores me.

I'm pretty sure everybody else believes that Richard was on the Black Rock. I was speaking more metaphorically though. The alternate timeline is fantastic stuff. The Jack/Locke scene at the end is likely to be the single greatest scene they ever have together. And Kate! Ahahahaha, I knew I was a Kate fan for a damn reason! Bring on next week's episode, I'm so down for a Kate episode now.

The Jack/Locke scene at the end is likely to be the single greatest scene they ever have together. [/img]
That was such a brilliant scene, and my favorite of the episode. Terry and Matthew have had the best chemistry of any actors on the show, and since Locke is dead on the island, I hope we get many, many scenes with the two of them in the Alt Timeline. And with Jack offering Locke a consult, me thinks that is exactly what the writers plan on doing. And yeah, pretty sure Richard was on the Black Rock. My guess is that when the Black Rock arrived, Jacob and the MiB both wanted the people on the ship to follow them, and they chose Jacob. They were probably the first "Others," and pissed of the MiB. I can't wait to see what happens with MiB this season, why he wants to leave and what will happen when he meets everyone else. Will Sayid become his new nemesis (assuming he is Jacob now), or if Sayid is just Sayid, will Jack?

Plus, dead Julliete said "It worked" to Miles. Going to be an interesting season, I'm not sure I'm happy with a reset after 6 years though.

I have a feeling that when all is said and done, and the two timelines merge (if they do), the characters will remember everything that has happened to them. Similar to After the Fall. I think Desmond will play a big role in that, considering he seems to be the constant anomaly when it comes to time travel.
Also, I watched an interview with Darlton on Jimmy Kimmel, and they are calling the sequences in the Alt Time line flash sideways. I like my Flash back forwards better, but they also said they don't like the term Alternate Reality because that implies one of the timelines isn't real.

They didn't stop the plane crash, they just created another universe in which the plane was never in danger at all... because the H-bomb sunk the Island into the ocean never to be seen again. But who knows. I'm still not really sure where they intend to go with this alternate stuff. Darlton already said in interview that alternate universes ruin the excitement, so maybe they have something else in mind. (Plus, how lame would it be for Abrams to be using alternate universes on TWO of his shows, both currently airing?)

Something I found interesting was that Shannon didn't seem to be on the plane with Boone. It's possible that she was just in the bathroom or something during his conversation with Locke, but I got the impression that she'd decided not to leave Australia. That raises the possibility of more things being changed than just the plane not crashing.
And what happened to Desmond? Unlike Shannon, it makes total sense that in the new nuked-island timeline he could be on the plane, since he never spent 3 years there pushing the button, but where did he go at the end of the flight?
Also, I think there's more to Jack's father's coffin being missing than just the airline losing it. Exactly what's happened to Christian is still one of the big mysteries of the show, and I think that whatever it was is something that even the re-boot couldn't un-do, and that he's still on the island (underwater).

Yeah quite a few things seem to be different in the sideways reality. Shannon never left Austrailia, Desmond was on the plane (and he and Jack didn't remember meeting eachother), Locke appeared to go on his walkabout, Hurley has had a string of good, not bad, luck, Charlie is suicidal, Sun may not have learned English and Christian's coffin never made it on the plane.
I also wonder what was up with the red spot on Jack's neck? That makes me think he's going to be shot in the neck or something in the normal timeline.

Really good ep. So happy to see Claire again and really hoping to Juliet in the alternate timeline soon and Claire in the real one. Maybe they all will die and then reset time in the alternate timeline some how?
