I work in a DVD store but everyones mostly mentioned all the movies you might like.
If you like Anime movies I have to HIGHLY recomment any GHIBLI films. (Eg Spirited Away, Howl's moving castle, My Neighbour Totoro, Tales of Earthseas, Princess Monoke!) Beautiful beautiful films - with love, beauty, passion, power, heart, imagination and so much more.

I'll fourth the Waitress tip. Great film. Shame what happened to Adrienne Shelly at such a high point in her career.
I also think Nick and Nora was really good.

Horror fans...go watch 'Splinter' I saw Splinter a couple of nights ago! Awesome indie horror film. Have you seen Reeker - if you like Splinter, i reckon it's worth a go.

oh I god hated Reeker. I saw it a while back and dont really remember much about it...other than thinking it was horrendously directed. I think Im thinking about the right film...is the villain some guy with a hook or something? I remember something involving an upturned van in some gas station in the desert...or something...? lol. I watched 'Midnight Cowboy' last night, dustin hoffman is just incredible. I wish he still made good films.

Reeker doesn't have a guy with a hook - it's an inventive monster flick (probably not quite as good as Splinter, but worth a go). The name comes from the fact that the only real way to tell that the monster is near is that it stinks!
Midnight Cowboy is a stunning movie. Definitely one of those films that set the shape of cinema for the 1970s.
I rewatched "All About My Mother" a couple of nights ago and reminded myself of just how awesome Pedro Almodovar is. Anyone who hasn't seen it - go buy it now! It's a truly mesmerising and beautiful film.

I went to see The Ugly Truth with my 20 year old son over the weekend and we both nearly rolled out of our seats laughing. Not sci-fi/fantasy or anything, but Gerard Butler is HAWT!

Recently watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall - funniest rom-com ever! The structure of the film and each scene is inspired and very darkly comic.

I will be seeing Julie and Julia (that's the title right? I always think it's Juliet for some reason) tomorrow, but I also want to make a preemptive bid for (500) Days of Summer. It has literally been getting nothing but rave reviews since South by Southwest and it just hit theaters in my city, meaning it's probably out worldwide. GO SEE IT. ETA: Julie & Julia is great too. Go see it.

I know this is kinda old but Takeni saw it a few nights ago for the first time and i couldn't keep my eyes off the tv. it was an awesome movie! I saw that movie just last Saturday. At first, I thought it was really boring. But then the daughter gets taken and I told my friends to shut up. It was a really good movie. If your into the supernatural, check out "The Covenant". I'm also a horror movie buff and just saw a Thai horror movie called "Alone" last night. Boy, was it scary. I'm a big fan of Vanessa Hudgens and I really wanted to go see Bandslam when it comes out. Also want to see Sorority Row.
