Buffy over Batman was an easy choice. Batman isn't really a superhero - he's a "normal" with extensive training and special equipment.
Spiderman was a more difficult choice. Spidey actually has superpowers. Buffy even refers to her own 'danger sense' metaphorically as "spider sense" (yeah, I think about this kind of stuff; I'm sick). (I voted for her over Superman because I've never much cared for him; I like my heroes with some moral and spiritual complexity and he's too good to be true.)
In the end, Buffy does it for me more than Spidey, so she got my vote. But it was a closer thing than Batman.

Poll lost any semblance of credibility as soon as whedonesque started promoting it. I mean, if the poll was in terms of pop-culture-icon status, then Batman, Superman, Spiderman etc would bury her. If the poll was in terms of who would win in a fight, well, they would all kick her ass handedly as well. Call Batman a normal dude all you want, that guy beat Superman. Ergo, he can beat anyone. Brains over superpowers. No gaggle of wacky sidekicks needed.

I'm not a fan of DC but i know that Superman would have been able to crush Batman like a bug. Batman is after all only human with some fighting skills and a lot of money for his little belt that without he is nothing:P Sure he is smart but he is human and with weakness's. Buffy would win a fight with him.... Now if she was going up against Superman i would say she would lose. Or it would be a close win. But i think she wouldn't win that in a fight. The polls was there for fans of each characters to come and vote so it being in posts telling others about the poll was just informing others that the poll was out there. I'm sure there are more Buffy fans out there that keep track of Spider man etc just as much as Buffy.

The same could be said for Spiderman. Honestly,I see alot of similarities between Buffy and Spiderman as far as sacrifice and motivation. As far as the competition went(please note that this isn't me griping or an excuse)it seems to me that, given the wide margin of victory, some people gave up.Now,i am not saying that Buffy should have lost or would have lost, but I really expected a closer outcome. For me personally,I solidly sided with Spiderman.I grew up with him, while Buffy wasn't around until I was 25(and I didn't get into Buffy until age 30) See I can respect that opinion, ded1. I honestly was a bit shocked that Batman didn't trounce Buffy like he did in a similar tournament last year. But I don't like all the ignorant criticisms of Buffy throughout this year's tourney. I agree about the ignorant criticisms(although,to be fair, there were some from Buffy fans as well) I mean, come on people,no matter how great these characters are, they are still Fictional characters.I got the feeling from some of the comments that some people don't realize it,though

I LOVE Supes. I buy both Action Comics and Superman every month. But I love Buffy more.

But Buffy doesn’t just have superpowers, she has super fans, and they can take out a Man of Steel. I’m just saying.”Ah my Whedon love has been restored to an all-time high today. Thank you, Joss, for the kind words.

I know Buffy already one against the Silver Surfer but I doubt she would be able to beat him. Buffy is my young girl and all come on. I don't think she would be able to beat him by herself. But if she had her friends with her, there's a good chance she would win.
