i was thinking about this the other say, adn i thought: does anyone else ever wonder how Joss feels about the Twilight series? a lot of it is very similar to the Buffy/Angel relationship, and me (being an extreme Twilight hater) thought about how he feels about it.
thoughts?

I don't really follow the Twilight series so take this commentary with a grain of salt if it doesn't sit well with you. It's been suggested to me that the Buffy season 8 Twilight might be a not-so-subtle poke at those books.
S8 Twilight is a seemingly misogynistic man who wants to take away the power of the slayers, essentially erasing the message of female empowerment in Chosen.
This relates to the heroine of the Twilight novels being...well not the strongest female role model for young girls. She relies on her love interest, Edward, to protect her and wants to be turned into a vampire so that she can be with him forever. That somehow she isn't enough as she currently is - not strong enough, not desirable enough. She isn't a suitable match for him unless she changes herself in order to be more like him. Doesn't exactly sound like feminism, does it?
