I think we need a "I can't believe Buffy/Xander/Angel/Connor etc etc did that!"-thread. Not so much to debate, but to get it out of our systems.
I know that I sometimes need to whine about certain things,(Rona's attitude, season 4 of Angel, Willow cheating, etc etc) but don't have the energy to devote myself to a discussion in a new thread.
I'll start with this;
Not Fade Away was ruined for me the moment I saw Angel's flashback of how he killed that poor slave just to poison Archduke Sebassis of the Black Thorn. It's not like that sacrifice won the war, Angel was just making a statement to the senior partners. Funny how a grand stand against the dark side starts with murder. I've felt sorry for that slave since that episode were it hide at W&H and then was sent back to the archduke. If it was a human slave Angel would have saved it, or at least not murdered it, but no. Just another casualty in The War between evil and... lesser evil?
Now you can respond to my post or whine a bit yourself.

I never thought the slave was murder, because it's a demon and stuff and so is the Archduke. I understand if they're demons with souls, but they're not... they're evil lol.

So you got upset when he killed the slave but you didn't mind when Angel killed Drogyn?

For all we know, that slave have never hurt anyone and never intend to. It's innocent until proven guilty. You put it in an extra 'get out' . Pee pee? Umm... matter much? And yeah, pee pee (he's so cute/gross when he says that) So you got upset when he killed the slave but you didn't mind when Angel killed Drogyn? Where does it say that? *reading my post again* Jump to conclusions much? Actually, I have less of a problem with that. Although I would have expected Angel to do as in season 1 The Ring(?) and denie to fight or try to break them both out, I see why he did it. The Black Thorn could have killed them both. He did the smart rational thing, live to fight another day. He was cornered. In Not Fade Away, he made the choice without being pressured too. He took the easy way.

Um well I personally think a big reason that season 4 was ruined mostly bye Cordelia and her extremely retarded storyline/low cut shirts/sex with conner.

But either way I disagree. I think Angel crossed a very dark line by killing Drogyn. The same way I think Team Angel crossed a line by going to work for Wolfram and Hart. I don't know what the hell they were thinking. I'm glad when Cordy came back for YOU'RE WELCOME she was pretty disgusted with the way things had turned out.

Cordy accending to the heavens. It always seemed like an un-Cordy choice to me that she'd leave everyone for good, and after knowing that it was a scam afterall it seems even less agreeable.
Wesley doesn't contact Buffy/Giles when he finds out "The father will kill the son". I dunno, when he's leaving and everything, it just seems like he'd contact someone.
Willow is overcome by grief and magic and turns to what? Dark clothing and badly delivered quips? Lame.
Xander is absolutely certain of his love for Anya, and is reasurred that the scary and potentially volatile wedding isn't the same entity as his marrige, and yet still manages to get scared by some fake videos. Never resonates as anything but insane. In the spirit of destroying everyone in that season, I don't see why they couldn't have a (relitively) successful wedding and play out their heartache as a much more understandable struggling married couple. Meh.

Angel kills the slave!!! *needs to watch ATF without crying and turning it off*
thats so sad the slave was kinda cute in a really gross way.
R.I.P pee pee
OK a couple of things i didn't like
1: Xander leaving Anya - such a great couple and such a stupid move
2 - Connor Cordy sex - just plain gross
3 - Buffy's self absorbed moments - although she still rocks
4 - Willow turning dark - i just didn't like it
5 - Rona!

I severly disliked how the writer's didn't even try to make Rona likeable. It's just like "Oh well here's some time we need to take up.....let's put in a rude comment by Rona." It just was stupid IMO. They can sit there and say they needed someone to complain but in reality Kennedy did that enough. They could've easily made Rona likeable..Afterall they did for Molly.

I dislike AtS S4..more than anything else in the Buffy-verse. Cordy's storyline=bad, to concur with KaraConnor is annoyingly rebellious and should get over Holtz Cordy + Connor...ick Fred and Gunn in "Supersymmetry"..wicked bad choices that seem uber-uncharacteristic and eventually break up my favorite couple of the show The only good thing about S4 is the cameo by Gina Torres (LOVE her) as Jasmine, but I don't even like that character very well so I only tolerate her. Those are my gripes for Angel..I'll think of some for Buffy

I did more of a "I can't believe the writers did that!"
1) Xander summoning Sweet. They were better off blaming it on The Trio or Dawn. Xander?! WTF. 2) Paul Lee drawing "The Chain". Bad choice, bad art.

Nah, I thought the Xander calling Sweet was a funny twist. To make it Dawn would have been way too obvious.
Season 4 of Angel was an insult in my books. It was like Joss was paying so much attention to making a great final season of Buffy that he completely neglected the final scripts of Angel. I know they had to deal with the suddenly pregnant Cordy but please, do they have no shame! Letting Cordy and Connor sleep together was just down right perverted! And letting Angel see it from the opposite building...heartbreaking!
IMHO, with Angel killing the slave, one he was in fact a demon, harmless but still a demon and two, as we have always heard on both Angel and Buffy, there is always victims/consequences of war. To win the battle means sometimes people just have to die. I felt nothing for the little guy when he died. That might sound calous but it was par for the course!

Lorne is a demon(if you're a Lorne-hater, you probably don't get why I wrote that). 2. Please, never run for president. I long for the time when Angel would kill no innocent life, demon or human, to win a battle. Or perhaps I misjudged him all along.

Xander not saying; "Hey! I know why people are singing, dancing and dying. I know which demon and how he was summoned!"
in Once more with Feeling. People died and he didn't speak up until Dawn said it wasn't she who did it. I'm glad that he confessed in the end, but I don't get why no one smacked him over the head afterwards. Of course, they were all feeling low after Buffy's reveal, but still.

Agreed. I didn't like Rona at all, but then again, I didn't really care for any of the potentials, but most notably Rona and Kennedy. It seemed all the potentials ever did was whine and complain. They were so ungrateful for everything that Buffy was trying to do for them. And I completely agree with everyone about the Connor/Cordy "relationship." I found it to be absolutely disgusting. I mean, Cordy was Connor's mother figure. Incest much?

Oh goody. I like this thread. Quite original. Okay some things that didn't quite sit right with me: 1. The Potentials (Really enough said lol,but Rhona in particular ) 2. Connor+Cordy (He was just sooo moany, and the him and Cordy thing really dented her character) 3. Cordelia's exit (I don't feel it did her justice) 4. Dawn's Moanyness (In season 5 she was just a big moan,I kinda feel sorry for her now considering how hated she was) 5. Xander not speaking up in OMWF (He could have pointed out sooner and have saved lives...too out of character) 6. Kicking Buffy out her own house in season 7 (Xander/Willow/Giles and Dawn being as unbelievably ungrateful after everything she had done for them was a little off putting) Still I know Joss did it all for a reason

But yeah, completely agree with everything you said. Every time I watch this episode it makes me so angry. Painful to watch really. The only thing done right in this ep is when Dawn told Rona to shut her mouth. LOL!
