Since this is the 60th year of the Primetime Emmy Awards, they are allowing people to vote on their favorite moments in certain areas of TV. Buffy jumping to her death in 'The Gift' gets nominated in the drama category. This is really awesome news and I'd love to see the show win and make an appearance on the Emmy's. I believe you can vote whenever you want. I've been voting every time I sit down at my computer and it accepts my vote every time.

I'm going to vote for Buffy as much as I can. It really deserves this recognition and I do think out of those scenes, it is the best. But I concur that the Grey's Anatomy scene is one of the most powerful scenes on television. That scene turned me from a fan into a devoted fan of Grey's. Watching Ellen Pompeo in that scene breaks my heart everytime. I still hope Buffy wins! With an internet fanbase like Buffy has, I think it has a very good chance of winning. ETA I just watched the actual clip they have of The Gift and they cut out the best part in my opinion, the voiceover where Buffy says "You have to be brave. Live. For Me." and "Give my love to my friends. You have to be there for them now. And tell Giles I figured it out. And I'm okay" |

I just voted. I don't watch any of the other shows so there was no doubt in my mind about voting for our girl.
Although am a bit upset they cut out the voice over...thats what makes the scene. Although it would make much sense to someone who hadn't watched it before.

Well I just voted and I'll go back soon to vote some more. I've also sent some online friends the link so hopefully they'll help spread the word. Very cool...Buffy is up against some pretty big competition, I'm just thrilled someone thought the moment was worth including.
I also checked out the comedy category just for the heck of it...man that was tough...so many classic moments. I'm really curious to see what comes out on top.

It's really cool that it's at least being considered. Truthfully, it's not likely at all to win, due to the show's more "cult" status-- but the recognition with some other really pivotal television shows is good stuff.
It'd be one hell of an underdog win if it did, though.
