When Willow resurrected Buffy, she seemed convinced that Buffy was trapped in some hell dimension like Angel, but do we really believe that she thought this whole heartedly?
I believe that Willow wondered where Buffy was and if she was okay, but to go through and bring her back to life seemed really kind of selfish to me. Like she just wanted to have Buffy back in her world.
Then, it's basically the same situation when Tara died. She couldn't bring tara back like buffy, so she just went off the deep end.
Love the character to death, but she has some serious issues with accepting loss.

Yeah and she sort addresses this in Anywhere But Here.

Also: She was an enabler to Dawn trying to bring her mom back.
But yes, I get the argument.
Willow's power or wanting to the power to raise the dead -
If you could, does it mean you should?

Willow dealt with death very little. she killed vamps and demons, and all of the good scoobie stuff. but true human death was new to her.
anyone who is losing someone close for the first time is going to deal with it horribly. I think that why willow went of the deep end. all that power and she still couldn't change what we all know and hate: Everyone dies and not everyone comes back from it.

I agree with you, rufio, but at the same time I agree with mikey. I do think that Willow was selfish in wanting to bring Buffy back without even considering that she might have been in a better place. On the other hand, I also agree with what mikey is saying. I know that there have been several times when I have thought that if magic were real in our reality, I would jump at the chance to bring a loved one back, even to just spend a day, or hour with them.

I believe that Willow wondered where Buffy was and if she was okay, but to go through and bring her back to life seemed really kind of selfish to me. Like she just wanted to have Buffy back in her world. Although Willow is my favorite character, she can be selfish at times. For example, in "Forever," Willow is intrigued when Dawn states she wants to resurrect her mother. Tara, being the voice of reason, tries to explain the Wiccan code to Dawn, but Willow can hardly contain her curiosity. Willow also aids Dawn by showing her a Wiccan history book containing resurrection information. Yes, Willow wanted Buffy back, but I also think it is reasonable to assume Willow wanted to see if she could, in fact, resurrect Buffy. Willow's ability to do such questionable things and still be loved (let's face it, most viewers still love her) is what drives Amy Madison to place the hex on Willow in Season 7.

She definitely has issues letting go, but that is normal. Anyone with power to do so in real life would do it... Her mail problem is her lack of understanding moral side of magic. She got into it late and went very fast, like Amy, and unlike Giles ( who did have that Ripper phase but got over it) and Tara who were raised in magical surroundings and who understand the dangerous side of magic better than Willow.

Excellent point. I had never thought of it that way. Both Willow and Amy did discover magic at a relatively "'late" age.
