Copied from wikipedia;
In the non-canon Queen of the Slayers, the First Slayer is named as Senaya, which sounds similar to the name Sineya, mentioned in the enjoining spell performed by Willow, Giles and Xander in "Primeval".
This is dialouge from Primeval:
Willow: We enjoin that we may inhabit the vessel--the hand...daughter of Sineya...first of the ones...
Since the spell seems to refer to the first slayer's decendant, Buffy, and that the first slayer later tries to kill the scoobies in Restless (Giles:Somehow our joining with ... Buffy and ... invoking the essence of the, the Slayer's power was an affront to the source of that power.)
I assume that it's safe to say that Sineya is the name of the First Slayer. Or perhaps title for warrior or something.
What do you guys think?

Yes, I've taken it for granted for years now that the first slayer's name is Sineya. The quotes you listed are the solid evidence.

I would never have questioned the name's accurancy if it wasn't for Melissa who said that the name Sineya had actually never been a 100% canonizied.

Wow, I never really noticed this. Thanks for watching so closely for me!
I read Tales of the Slayers and I don't think they ever really say her name in her story.
