i can kind of understand why Giles didnt help, but Fred was dying and that should have come above all else. Even if there was a problem beween Giles/Angel, Fred was still an innocent in all of this, yet help was denied to her!
As for it being Angels "Phone Manner" that made Giles not help. Come on, one of his closest friends were dying, do you really expect him to be calm and polite on the phone
Also, although Angel wasntn actualy there for the Final Fight, he did want to be, but was sent away, by Buffy, no less.
AND, without Angel, theyd all probably be dead, sunnydale wouldnt have been destroyed, Ubervamps would have escaped and The First would probably have ruled! Because remember, ANGEL brought the Amulet to Sunnydale. Without it, They wouldnt have won and Spike wouldnt have became a Champion!

As I already said. Giles COULDN'T help. He hung up because Angel was being a prick; he didn't help because he COULDN'T.

One of his best friends was infected with the essence of a demon god, she was being liquidated alive, from the inside out. Did you really expect him to be calm and collective? Im sorry, but even Giles was like that, remember his speech from "The Gift"? He was out of line to Buffy, but did it because he was worried about the innocents in the world! Also, Willow might not have been avalible, but Giles had access to the Coven, so he could have sent some form of help. Giles swore an oath to protect the innocents, but did absolutely nothing to help. He didnt evn bother listening to what Angel had to say. Just my opinion Wayne

Just my opinion Wayne I think you wrong about him being out of line in The Gift if anything he was being level headed. One life to save the world. He was right what he said. Buffy knew that. If she didn't kill herself she would have had to kill Dawn to close the portal other wise the world would be over. And she knows that as much as Giles did. I don't think Giles was out of line in shells... Angel has done lots of bad things to Giles and the people he loves. He never trusted him so when he phones up asking for help and he is still working for W&H he is bound to not listen anymore. Plus I'm glad he did other wise the Fred storyline may have work different.

Just my opinion Wayne I think you're missing the point to be honest. For one, there's no reason to defend Angel as no-one's blaming him for anything. Circumstances may explain what he was like on the phone but it doesn't change the fact that he was talking like a bit of a prick. As far as Giles was concerned, an old friend/torturer phones out of the blue in a very bad mood demanding Willow. ..which brings me to point 2. You're right, Giles could have done more. IF Angel asked for it. He didn't. He demanded repeatedly for Willow, who wasn't around, hence me saying Giles COULDN'T do anything. To repeat: Angel did NOT ask for help. Other things to consider. You never know just what Giles says. Angel was pissy anyway there's nothing to say Giles wasn't comepletely reasonable on the other end. It also shouldn't be forgotten that Angel was in charge of the world's most powerful mystical resource anyway, what else could Giles provide that Angel couldn't readily get?
