Illyria: Spotlight is a comic, a story based on the Angel television series.
Illyria, an Old One who has only recently been reintroduced to its life, tries to further understand humanity by studying the vessel whom it now occupies, Fred. Illyria considers whether she is capable of guilt. I loved this comic story! I really wish that is had been longer, maybe two, or three issues in total. But sadly, it was just one issue. Even though it was just a stand alone issue, it was amazingly spectacular! ;D This was a incredible thing to read! If you are a Illyria fan, you need to read it! Illyria: Spotlight really felt like an episode of Angel.

I agree, this was a really nice issue, probably my favorite one in the Angel: Omnibus. Gave some really great insight into her character, which is usually pretty rare for non-canon works.

Agreed. This is easily the best non-Lynch Angel comic IDW have released. Peter David should totally be writing the ongoing series, I love his work on X-Factor. He's excellent at subtle characterization.

100% agree. This is such an amazing comic book, easily my favorite non-After the Fall Angel comic, loved it to death. I also hope Peter David writes for the series again. Along with this Spotlight, Spike vs. Dracula is another favorite.

I would love a Illyria comic when she/it was A old one and the war with the higher powers...

Love this comic. My favorite of the spotlight comics. I'm glad he's the one who gets to write more Illyria, even if she's "just" a guest star (Fallen Angel).

^ Haven't seen this around? When was it released? Is it only available in one of the Angel Omnibus?

^ Haven't seen this around? When was it released? Is it only available in one of the Angel Omnibus? I think it might be in the angel omnibus(check IDW's site, wikipedia or the angel omnibus thread we have on slayalive), or in it's own TBP(There are five Spotlight comics out there, each one focusing on a different character, Illyria, Gunn, Doyle, Wesley & Connor). It shouldn't be impossible to find it as a single issue tough.

^ Haven't seen this around? When was it released? Is it only available in one of the Angel Omnibus? It was released a few years ago, as part of the Angel: Spotlight mini series. You can buy it as just the one issue, or you could get it in the Angel Omnibus as well. I hope I helped some. ^^

I loved this one shot!
it was the first buffy/angel verse comic I read that actually aroused some sense of emotion in me. Id been reading all the buffy comics etc up until that point but none of them really tapped into the emotional writing side of the show as well as this one did when it first came out...but then of course buffy season 8 and angel season 6 came along and changed all that!
