Hm, I voted that he could possibly lead us to a twist in the storyline sooner or later, just to be safe. The vibe I have always gotten from Andrew is that he is pretty weak minded when it comes to alliances and such (I'm just recently re-watching season 6 and 7 so bear with me). I don't think I could ever trust a guy like Andrew, even though he (for now) can sacrifice his own life for the Scoobies. I'm pretty sure I'm probably wrong but thats my opinion.

I'd say he's earned it. I think it was done to show that he has finally been accepted as part of the group/family. I certainly hope it's not to kill him off later on (though that would be so Joss)! And if he did die, yes, I probably would cry. The comic has made me get teary before, it is no different than the the show for me in that way. It's no secret that I disliked Andrew when he first started on the show, but from S7 onwards I have loved him. I would be very sad if he died!
