These are really cool, I might want to try this myself lol. I really like the first and fourth one. The original art for #2 looks great as well. The third issue's effect went a little too far, but I know what you were going for. Also, I'm not a fan of the "Did It My Way" text that you use for the normal text. It seems a little too stylistic for that kind of text on a cover. For instance, if you check out the Buffy issues, they use a really simple, easy to read text for the issue title, artists, writer, etc. Other than that, this is a really cool idea. I'd love to see more. This might be fun to do as a new contest as well... Hmmm....

Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it. But I think you got the numbers mixed up. Did you mean that I took it too far on issue 2?
I'm not sure if I'm entirely happy with the text for the artists name, issue name etcetc, like you said, but I got bored and I figured they were good enough. I think it took me more than half an hour to choose the "Spike - Did it my way" text for the first issue. I'm like that with fonts, I can't choose.
And if you do a contest I'm so in. I just have to think of a better logo than the 'Sky'one I'm using.
Btw, if anyone knows of technics to make a photo look painted, let me know, because the technic I'm using kinda sucks.

Oops, yeah mixed em up. And text can always be a real pain. I usually always struggle with text on my work and banners. Color, font, placement, size, etc. It's just hard to get it right. And I would try searching Google for some possible techniques to use. Something like "Painted Photo Photoshop" or something. Or if you are using the paint filter in Photoshop (or Gimp? Don't know what you use), maybe just keep the settings very minimal so that the painting effect if really subtle. That may work.

Yeah, I've tried googling, but when I see pages filled with instructions, and realize that I have to translate (I have the swedish version of PS) I just go do something else.
I'm lazy.

I think CowboyGuy thought about posting some tutorials or something at one point. That of course would be awesome, his banners always come out looking great. I could probably write up some tutorials, but I'm not very good at explaining things.

I may be able to provide some tips when I launch our new art contest next week (called Coverama!). Have to get through the next two days and then I will be done with school (FOREVER), and can work on some then. This new contest will have a few more requirements than Bannerama, so I think some tutorials would be helpful.

Ok, I don't mean to be crude. But this is bad ass. If I ever write a buffy comic or completed story I'd love for you to make me a cover. Your work is great.
