Okay, I heard that the Angel After the Fall trade paperback is coming out in June. But some sites say that its publication date is June 1, and some sites say it won't come out til the end of June. I really want to read the first issues together in the tpb, but I dont know when its coming out. Does anyone have a confirmed date?

As far as I know there is no official date yet but lots of sits are taking orders for them now so when it is released you will definatley get a copy. Are they doing a new cover for it?? Next time Brian Lynch is logged on in the forum ask him or leave him a private message.

That sounds absolutely amazing! There is no way I'm NOT going to pick that up. Just one of the many reasons why IDW is better than Dark Horse.

Last word we got on the Amazon/Barns&Noble "First Night" book is that there is no release date. Those sites make up an estimated release date and just post it. They've been doing it with every book that's come out other than Harry Potter or Twilight. Until they know the date, they just slap one on. It'll probably come out somewhere around there, but there isn't even a release date for the FIRST collection yet. It'll be a while before we heard when the "First Night" collection is coming out.

I cannot wait for this! If only Dark Horse seemed half as gung-ho about Buffy...

I think you guys are being a bit unfair to Dark Horse. They've been very gung-ho about Buffy. They're marketing new products based on Buffy, recruiting Joss to do "Sugar Shock" for Dark Horse presents, doing an exclusive hardcover version of "The Long Way Home," recruiting high profile writers, and committing to a 40 issue series. That's way more than most comic companies do.

Agreed Pat. They're taking chances on the products (Ouija board, Tarot deck). IDW isn't making any products, are they? All they do is reprint the same issue with 5 or 6 covers. That seem's like a waste.

Now IDW is getting flack because they're not making merchandise too? But then some people don't like the merchandise that's being made. It's true, you can't please everyone I guess.
Either way, the ANGEL hardcover is a beautiful book. I'm proud to be a part of it.

That seem's like a waste. Totally disagree about the IDW bashage, though. IDW is doing just as well as Dark Horse. The covers they're producing are, for me, more interesting than the DH merchandise. I was just defending Dark Horse's effort, because it's ridiculous to say that they don't seem extremely involved in Buffy. However, I prefer what IDW is choosing to do with Angel. Hell, I like both companies. Why the comparing?

idw is the only one allowing fans to participate to make covers - how awesome is that for them to do? so no bashing. all companies are trying to do what they can and hey i got no problem with what they put out. if i like it i'll get it. if i dont, then someone else might like it and get it.
wonder if there'll be a Gunn series... or um.. Angel, Spike and Gunn... vs the Charmed sisters in a super crossover

I want it to be clear also that I'm not bashing DH at all. I'm very excited for the tarot cards and the ouija board is alright too, although I haven't decided yet if I'm actually purchasing it.
It's just that so far, I love the different little touches from IDW that seem to show more effort. The comics themselves physically are of a higher quality in terms of the paper they use; the ATF graphic novel sounds as if it's going to blow the season 8 TPBs out of the water. I just wonder how come we don't get things a little more like that from DH when we know by now that the series is doing well and the demand is there for it.

Angel, Spike and Gunn... vs the Charmed sisters in a super crossover Charmed is like one of my most favorite shows, sad that it ended. That would actually be a good idea. But is questionable because Brad Kern or Spelling Company or Constance M. Burge owns the characters. Anyways, I think both companies are doing really great stuff from the success of both shows. DH has made Tarot Cards, a Spirit Board, is making 40 issues, having reprints, and making TPB collections, and making a season 9. While IDW is making lots of covers for each issue, going above the 12 issue limit, is making Spike: ATF, and may consider making a season 7, they are releasing a collection with, from what I read, has every cover and is very beautiful. So I don't know about you, but I think both companies are taking very great advantage of the success of both series. DH just does the merchandise while IDW deals with improvements of the comics.

Zero days. If the publishing date is June 18, that means the release date is June 18th. TFAW just says "publishing date" instead of "release date."
