I really didn't think Brian had much of a grip on Kate's voice. "Yo fugly!" ?! Not a Kate line.

Is that the only line that didn't sound accurate?
I don't know, Kate had to come up with something quick and short. I think it ain't out of the question that she woulda said it. Especially now that she's all bad-ass monster fighter.

I'm hoping to learn more of what she's been through since leaving the show; I'm sure there're experiences that can alter a person's personality, but I'd like to know about those experiences, myself.

Right, but were there any other lines that bothered you?
Also, I appreciate the fact that you want to know what she's been up to, but the story wasn't about that. It was about Connor's growth as a character and the effect she had on him in their short time together.
It also opened the door to get people interested if they DO wanna know what happened to her.

I always thought of Kate as a very articulate woman, so her saying "'splode" instead of "explode" bothered me a little. "Boy-oh-boy" is a little hard to imagine her saying, but that has nothing to do with her articulance (is that a word?). "Hey I got voices." She's been hanging around some grammatically challenged people as of late. LOL I don't mean to be picky or anything of a negative nature. I'm just stating my thoughts and opinions.

I never liked Kate, but I was happy to see that she was the "surprise" character, and not Cordelia.

I consider myself a grammar Nazi. But when I get into tense situations, it's not unlike me to start forgetting grammar rules... so maybe that's just what happened. I dunno. But I definitely want to know what's she's been up to!

Despite the silly silly folks that are crying "No spinoff" in the poll above, Brian, if this is a question of sales you and Ryall wouldn't have to worry. Most Buffy fans I know would buy anything that was put out as the canonical story, which I'm sure the Kate spinoff would be. The only explanation I can think of for the poll results is folks thinking they'd PREFER a spin-off featuring a different character but would take a Kate spin-off if it was produced.

The only explanation I can think of for the poll results is folks thinking they'd PREFER a spin-off featuring a different character but would take a Kate spin-off if it was produced. That's what I'm thinking, too. I actually think that out of all the Angel characters, I would be MOST interested in a Kate spin-off because the others are still really tied to the main Angel story. And Kate can really go off and do her own thing with little interaction with the main story. She can really become her own series... whereas the others, at this point, would probably still rely heavily on Angel. Plus I think that if any of the main characters left the Angel story, it might hurt the main Angel series. I think the opposite is true for Buffy, though... I mean, she's not really all that "connected" with her scoobies anymore. Willow is off doing her own thing most of the time... She's having issues with Giles and Faith... Dawn is at college (when she's not mega-sized, that is). There are a ton of spin-offs they could with the Buffy story. But with Angel, they would have to do a series with someone who isn't really all that important to the main story line, but still be someone that the fans care about. I think Kate is the perfect person right now. Unless you do little miniseries about how the Fang Gang is doing in their own separate parts of Hell-A. But then what about after After the Fall ends? So yeah... I think a Kate spin-off of Angel is perfect right now. Hopefully we get something out of it!

I'm a die hard comic book collector, so I'd buy it regardless...but no way does Kate need a series However, I would be all for a series of "one-shots" (one, stand alone comic book) brandishing the After The Fall monicker. Not only would you be able to tell Kate's story in one book, but the people who purchased it and were disappointed wouldn't affect the sales numbers for the second, third, etc. issues. Who wouldn't buy a "one-shot"?...even if you think Kate is boring, it's one book, $3.99, big deal. You can have that idea Mr. Lynch (no charge ;D )

I'd buy a Kate series, but as theorized above, I'd prefer something different. But a series from the time she left to the time she returned would be awesome.
