I hope that is true, because TFAW still has the date as June, 25th.

Ok, so we got a little preview of this issue at the end of #8. Now, I don't want to say it's bad, because it's not, but it's not good. Part of me can't believe this is the same guy who did the Wesley story in First Night! There is just NO detail! I think it just looks sloppy and messy, couldn't even tell they were on a street and it's hard to see exactly what's going on. I can't help but be majorly disappointed. I love consistency, and I don't get why Franco Urro couldn't continue doing Angel and Nick Runge could do Spike. The look of The Dragon was my favorite thing about it, and now it doesn't even look a thing like Franco's. I hope it gets better.

It makes no sense for Franco to switch up and go over to Spike. Makes me feel like Angel: After The Fall is taking second seat to Spike: After The Fall. If Lynch really wanted Franco on Spike then they should have waited till after the Angel run was finished. Kinda irritating.

I'm a little jarred by the switch in the main artists too. I wish Franco had stayed for the whole run. The switch during the First Night series is fine having all the different artists because they're different stories. Each having a unique feel.
This makes me appreciate Jeanty being the main guy for Buffy season 8. Having the guest artists like Cliff Richards and Karl Moline make sense because 'Anywhere But Here' was a trippy/alternate reality story and the ToYL arc is set in Fray's time so Moline fits perfectly.

I got my copy today, and I got the #1 "Director's Cut" at the same time. Going right from reading one to the other, it almost seemed to me that Runge was trying to mimic Urru's style (at least, based on the preview that was shown). Slightly OT, but the "Director's Cut" was great! I hope there'll be another issue or two that they do that for...

Keep in mind, those are panels blown up to be bigger than they are in in the final comic.
And I'm sooooo happy everyone misses Franco, as he's my favorite artist ever, but keep in mind, not everyone felt that way, and were very vocal about it. Verrrrry vocal.

It is a shame Franco moved onto Spike, but not the end of the world.

Where were people vocal about not liking Franco? The peeps here on Slay Alive all seem to either love him or think he's ok. I personally thought he had the emotion of the characters and the drama of the show completely down. I say we start a petition to get Franco back if there's still time.

I think we need to wait until Issue #9 hits the shelves before judging the art.

I think that ship has sailed, sadly. Franco is already working on Spike: AtF and there's art that's been posted for issue 2. Let's all give Runge a chance - I liked his art for the Wesley story.

I would say that I want NO ONE to come back from the dead in After the Fall again, but I love Fred too much. I need her to come back into the Buffyverse. I have not read any issues yet, so I am not sure about the whole Fred ordeal, but I hope she can come back to us.
"Fred seemingly reappears in the fifth and sixth issues of Angel: After The Fall, manifesting as a transformation of Illyria into what seems to be not just the physical appearance of Fred, but also her personality. This happens a first time upon the initial fusion of Hell and L.A. and then a second time upon a reunion of Illyria and Wesley, however the cause and nature of the transformation and the extent to which this is truly 'Fred' have yet to be revealed."

Yay! I don't see the HC on that list though, so I guess it will still be coming out next week. Damn you TFAW for getting my hopes up by changing the date to June 18th.
