Loved the cover. But how much time has been since NFA? He seems pretty much older. I think maybe being human is catching up with him

why are ya'll saying that illyria/fred are having personality issues just by looking at the cover? Yeah.... one thing to remember is... comic book covers are made waaaay in advance before an issue is finished, and they are designed to do 2 things: look shiny, and make a person looking at it want to buy it. A comic book cover's relation to what's inside is often rather tenuous. At best, it'll promise what characters you'll see within--but that could be flashbacks, flashforwards, etc. (That said, I think Illyria is still around as much as "Fred" but whether that's true or not has nothing to do with the cover... )

Wow! I just noticed this. Definitely the best cover yet! Original, colored and drawn extremely well. Gorgeous!

I ditto that this is the best cover yet, though it opens more questions about Fred/Illyria ... namely, what the hell is going on? and, is it sorted by this issue? I hope Illyria doesn't completely take over, I need Fred! <3

Why is this starting to sound like a Reese's peanut butter cups commercial? "Hey, you got your Illyria on my Fred!" "Hey, you got your Fred on my Illyria!" Mmm. Two great tastes that go great together... >

Something in Gunn's basement? Please let it be Harmony! She could have sired him, thinking she would 'save' him. Being a vampire is the ultimate torment for him, so he is paying her back. Fred and Harmony <3

Fred and Harmony <3 I think its Harmony who sired him too. I don’t think she meant to make him suffer (by making him a vampire) but rather save his life. So Betta George isn’t in the basement? I hope Gunn dies. HE KILLED FRED! I don’t care what anyone says. He signed the form without reading it over. He should have known there was going to be a twist. Its Wolfram & Hart for crying out loud. Hey Brian if you read this... Make sure you kill Gunn, make him suffer for what he did to Fred. Don’t let Angel stake him and have him take the easy way out. Send his butt to a hell dimension where he will be ripped to shreds over and over again. Sorry guys, I don’t mean to sound like a psychopath . I just really dislike Gunn. -Ben

I kinda agree with you Ben (though granted not as passinate with the Gunn hate lol). Fair enough he felt undervalued but it cost Fred her life and that is unforgivable. Dying in the alley would have been too much of an easy way out for him, it's great that he's a vampire as it's his ultimate torment but, to be honest, I'm not really liking how his storyline is playing out at the moment, I would much prefer more Spike and Fed/Illyria.

Send his arse to a hell dimension where he will be ripped to shreds over and over again. Didn't he already do that? Not arguing with you--but that's what he did when he traded places with Lindsey in the suburbia hell dimension, where he was indeed ripped apart on a daily basis. And he voluntarily went because he knows he deserved punishment for his part in Fred's death. Oddly, the one who rescued him is Illyria. And no one understood why she chose to do so....

You know, if Gunn were tried in a court of law, he wouldn't even be charged with murder, because he didn't set out with the deliberate intention of killing Fred. It'd be manslaughter, which carries a (much?) less severe penalty. Like deathquaker said, I think he's already paid that debt down in the basement.
Besides, anything you did to him now wouldn't matter anyway, because that's not Gunn. It's a demon, wearing Gunn's body and working off Gunn's memories and personality, but the guy who signed that piece of paper just isn't in there anymore.

Loved the cover. But how much time has been since NFA? He seems pretty much older.[/quote I'm sure someone else thought of this somewhere, but Angel getting older in ATF would set things up nicely for a new movie if it were to ever happen. We could actually beleive that DB is still Angel. It is weird watching Buffy Season 1 then seeing Angel in season 5. I mean it had been like 8 years. Not that David still didn't look good, but not aging. Anyhoo, off topic.

Well, Angel can only grow a year within Angel: After the Fall, if that. If he remains human after the remaining issues, and if he isn't shipped off to the Fray franchise, and if this hypothetical movie takes place many years into the future, then maybe.

And Brian Lynch. My two main wishes for Angel After The Fall and Buffy season 8 is: Buffy season 8: Have Marti Noxon wrote an issue Angel After The Fall: Have Joss write a full issue and Tim Minear
