You know what confuses me? A very vamped Angel on the #11 cover and a very human [and hurt] Angel on the #12 cover. It is a great one, though. Kind of reminds me of...

I'm very surprised to say that recently I have been preferring the Angel covers over the Buffy ones. This one knocked it out of the park!

Uh oh, Angel isn't looking too good. I'm loving how Connor is holding him in the rain, harkens back to Lullaby.
All these big Angel moments happen when it's raining (both fire or water) - making love with Buffy and losing his soul for the first time, saving Faith in 5 by 5, Connor being born, losing Cordy to Connor in Apocalypse Now, the final scene in Not Fade Away.
Any other rain-y moments?
The human Angel cover versus the Vamp Angel cover for 11 doesn't confuse me...I just saw the cover as being from Gunn's perspective and the vampire glamour Angel is using.

Plus, Brian said the cover with Vamp Angel wasn't a final cover. The Alex Garner cover shows Angel as a human for #11.

If Runge's work is on par with this for the rest of his run then I will take back every disparaging remark I said about Franco going over to Spike: After the Fall

If Runge's work is on par with this for the rest of his run then I will take back every disparaging remark I said about Franco going over to Spike: After the Fall I'll be recanting right there with ya. That cover really is amazing, so emotive. Connor's expression is so full of grief and regret. Angel looks so defeated and yet somehow peaceful...maybe that's because he might be unconscious I love how the rain bounces off Connor and Angel. It's a very beautiful cover. The blues really hit that somber note for the scene. And the blood pool, yikes, looks like Angel's been hit somewhere vital. Are there ambulances in Hell-A?...

I absolutely love this cover. This is how I want Angel to die. A true hero. Severely injured during the big battle and having his son "cradle" him until he passes on. I really want him to die a human. That’s what he always wanted (not to die human, but to be human) and I think he deserves it. That would be the best ending EVER. This cover tops every other cover for Angel: After The Fall, yes including Alex Garner's covers. But then again, its only issue 12. And I don’t think the Senior Partners want him dead just yet. This is a truly amazing cover and I thank Runge for this magnificent piece of art.
And what’s next to Angel’s hand? Not the piece of paper but the writing that’s cut off.
EDIT
I lied, sorry. Its not my favorite cover. I was listening to Keane's A Bad Dream and I got emotional. What can I say? I was caught up in the moment.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Angel actually died a few episodes before the end of the run. It would be VERY Six Feet Under. I agree that it would be very fitting to let Angel die human and a hero.

that's the feeling I'm getting...isn't there only 12 issues in the series?
Angel could be making the "ultimate sacrifice" by dying to return LA to normal?

Part of me wishes I didn't look, but it was inevitable. Very beautiful cover, my favorite yet. Maybe Gunn DOES kill Angel.

Well I can imagine that Gunn will be the strongest vampire Angel has ever faced (except for perhaps Darla/Dru/Spike). Gunn was exceptionally strong as a human, so I bet he is one heck of a foe as a vampire now. I can't wait to see them throw down.

I don't think something so huge about the title character would be revealed in a cover. I just have trouble seeing this as a final death for Angel. Also, aren't there going to be more than 12 issues in AtF?

Pretty sure AtF will finish around issue #15-16, which would make the series around 20 issues total (including Spike:AtF).

Runge knocks it out of the park. His first issue (9) came out wonderful but there are some spots that I know he wanted to redo (damn time constraints). I can honestly say that 10 and 11 came out PERFECT. Runge is a real find.

I hope Angel stakes Gunn right at the end, and Angel barely lives through it...or dies. Not that I dont like Gunn, but I think that his character is a whole new one.
