I love Nick Runge's art. I wish he had done the entire series. Me too, I definatley would have enjoyed the first few issues a lot more, Franco is very talented but I feel his art was wrong for this series. Nick Runge however I am completely 100% happy with. So issue 12's cover of Connor and Angel is now issue 13's cover and this Wesley cover is for issue 12. Why the swap about??

It's more accurate.
Also, I think Franco is beyond perfect. I'd say I'm biased because I love Franco but I love Franco BECAUSE he captures the mood and the action and the emotion so well.
Also, most under appreciated artist in the ANGEL:ATF thus far? Mr. Stephen Mooney. That guy gets it. Love his facial expressions and the heart he puts in it. His pages on CONNOR/KATE were just beyond brilliant for what we were trying to do.
And Runge is a super star in the making, mark my words.

Me too, I definatley would have enjoyed the first few issues a lot more, Franco is very talented but I feel his art was wrong for this series. Nick Runge however I am completely 100% happy with. I love Franco's style and felt it really set the tone for the series, so much so that I'm still having trouble adjusting now that he's not doing it anymore. Runge's work on the Wesley "First Night" story, and issue #10, has been really good, tho, so if he'd been doing the series right from the start, that would've been great, too--as long as the original colorist(s) from the first five issues had remained the same (or maybe the guy who colored the Wes FN story). The brown, muted coloring of the new guy has really hurt the art in the last two issues, I think... Agreed that Stephen Mooney is great. And Messina's classic "comic book" look to Angel's nightmare at the opening of #10 was awesome!!

I wonder if the locked door in the image has any meaning?

I wonder if the locked door in the image has any meaning? I think it is. Maybe not to the issue, but to the fact that the gang joined W&H. It's a metaphor, W&H opened up new doors to our beloved demon hunters. Also, if you enter a room, you have to deal with the consequences. Like Wes is now.

16 issues?! Where did it say this?! ;D It's been said loads of times by Joss and Brian. Brian confirmed it over at slayalive during a Q & A session. Here is the issue 13 Wesley cover with the added title at the top of the cover. www.tfaw.com/Profile/Angel-After-The-Fall-13___329443

Garner's new cover is amazing! I added it to the first post so everyone can check out both covers. I think I'll have to buy both this month!

Amazing! Alex Garner never fails to deliver. This cover rivals some of Jo Chen's best work. I want a poster of this cover - it's beautiful. Alex Garner posted some interesting comments about his work process on his website: Alex Garner's Deviant Art"I first painted a Fred version and then an Illyira version based off Fred in Corel Painter. That went pretty quickly. The tedious part was putting both women together piece-by-piece using a jigsaw template layer as a guide in photoshop. I use too many [paint types/brushes in Painter] to name, probably around 30 or so at any given time depending on what I'm trying to achieve. Every project has different requirements. I don't use any paint types other than the default one and I almost always work on a single flattened layer to move around the paint/pixels properly. I only use multiple layers in Photoshop. I actually have no idea if posters will ever be made. That would be up to the publisher I guess. I certainly wouldn't mind it if they did!" Wow, that cover is beautiful. I would have liked the eye to be a lot smaller, but otherwise I can definitly see a likeness. At most, I think the eyes are slightly larger imho. But that's just a bit of emphasis by the artist - the same way the lashes are lengthened for dramatic effect. But Amy Acker has very large eyes in proportion to her face. Considering that, I think the size of the eyes is fairly realistic while still portraying a slighly comic feel to the portrait.

I would love to have a poster of Alex Garner's covers for #10, #11, and #12, as well as his cover for the First Night HC. All 4 of those are just remarkable.

That would be awesome to have a poster of some of the covers!
You think that maybe we could get Brian to pass the word along about us, wanting posters of some of the covers, to IDW? I am sure that there are other people in the world that would buy them. It might be a nice investment for IDW to try it out.

I really loved how they put mini-posters in issues 6 and 7 and I wish they would of kept doing it. I even cleared a section of my wall to start a little collection, but then they stopped.

If any cover deserves to be turned into a poster (theatrical size please!) it's this one. I would totally buy a frame and put it up in my house.
